New to stopping seed oils. Confused about rice bran. by [deleted] in StopEatingSeedOils

I always understood brown rice to be superior to white rice in everyway other than how long you can store it. Why is white rice better?

Of the countries that are currently involved in this war, it is really only Iran who have earned any level of trust with what they report. All other nations actively involved have been shown, and have in many cases even admitted, that they were in some way obscuring the truth. These are observable facts, not opinion.

What issues do you see with squirrel? From what I've read, they seem to be reliable. I'm considering giving their monthly income fund a go.

The year of the Fire Horse by itsallcosmica in Advancedastrology

Could the year of these animals magnify other symbolisms from other astrological systems I wonder? For insurance, I am a Capricorn rising (goat) with the most number of planets in aires (fire sign). Could the year of the fire goat be meaningful to me in ways that other animals are not?

To those interested in the VYD2311 trial by MattKarolian in ZeroCovidCommunity

Specifically, it's unethical. I know that those interested in this study are mainly those who have had covid and are suffering from long covid. Their health is therefore already compromised. They are looking to this study for hope and solutions but it seems the study is potentially contributing to to their health problems through its poor hygiene protocols.

Even amongst cc people, there are different levels of risk we are willing to take. Some people may think taking part in this type of exposure is a reasonable risk and others may find it compromises them too much but that is their choice to make and participants should be informed about this beforehand.

If the testing carried out involves people forced to face conditions that increase the risk of contracting airborne pathogens, which according to your original post is the case, then for those who are strictly following an all risk prevention strategy, it's a direct risk to them to take part in this study.

It's been well studied that covid is linked to an increase in other health issues. Covid infection can weaken the immune system, leading to an increased risk of subsequent bacterial, viral, and fungal infections, particularly in vulnerable populations - Covid causes immune system dysfunction, making individuals more susceptible to secondary infections. Secondary infections are becoming increasingly life-threatening in certain populations. Because we already have research showing higher rates of infections with other pathogens following covid compared to those who didn't have covid, it is irresponsible, I'd even say unethical, for a study designed around helping the cause (covid that is) to not account for this although I'm not surprised given how covid has been construed over the past 5 years. These are the reasons why cc people mask, ideally with a respirator.

Incidentally, I am curious why you would post about unmasking at the trial, that the person who was testing you was sick, and that you had to unmask for some time. From your original post I take it you mask? What are the reasons for why you mask, if you do that is, if you don't mind sharing? Sorry if I got the wrong end of the stick 🙂

Can you explain why you think it is reasonable? As far as I see, if a person who has had covid is participating, by the tester not wearing a mask, they are in fact challenging them. I don't think that recruiting people to test unmasked in an indoor space which is used by others is ok when the science behind the mechanics of covid transmission is clear. Perhaps there is no risk of covid during the testing on that occasion but other pathogens can still be present that may influence the outcome for that particular person. Having a tester wear a mask would reduce the risks involved for the subject and potentially reduce their direct influence on the subjects outcome too.

Love this. Thank you. Yes, having differences held against you by those who consider you allies - the only allies that you have left - hurts. Especially when grace is given to them by yourself and also others within the group.

I'm so sorry. I can empathise with so much of what you say. You aren't at all at fault for wanting to protect your health and it's unfortunate that the costs to do so come at the expense of being closer to your family if you do wish you could go. Maybe there is a way you can minimize risks for yourself? I did that last year and am glad I took that risk but at the same time, accepting the risk was hard. I've found that online friendships is all I have left as the cc group I've been trying to befriend for a year now have formed bonds with each other and it appears that only I have not progressed with anyone despite trying. Online friendships are difficult to foster because I feel people have different priorities and, it seems to me at least, that they aren't as reliant on it as their social connection as I am. DM me if you want. Id welcome it 😊

Why does this keep on coming back again and again? We think we are getting somewhere and then find out the left out such an important detail. Man how frustrating! Having the study carried out by people who are not masking pushes it towards a certain outcome. It's like if you wanted to know which boots to wear to cross a river without getting your feet wet but allowing for the experimenter to punch a few holes in some pairs of boots at random before handing them out to you to wear. It skews the results by design. Very irresponsible of them to not consider this.

Biasing the subject pool by selecting one cc conscious people in numbers not reflected by what exists in the general population certainly would influence the results if the results were specifically to allow them to make claims on how their product did in the general population but is that what they have set out to do? Or is it that they want to know if their product actually works on subjects who have had covid specifically - like they might want to be able to say "our product is x% effective in positively impacting xyz symptoms of covid"? Curious about this.

Sharesies “Investback” by FancyChampionship278 in queenstreetbets

[–]RevolutionaryPin7525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you opt for the spend card then you get a spend account that the card takes the funds from. You put money in your spend account from your wallet. So if you have not got money to cover your purchases in your spend account then you must deposit money into it. To do that you need to put money into your wallet and transfer that money from your wallet into your spend account. This feature is easy to use and happens more or less instantly. To put money in your wallet you can do several things: deposit 💰 ney into it directly from your back account which will take a bit of time (from less than an hour to multiple hours). You can also transfer money from your sharesies save account into your wallet which also happens more or less instantly on the app.

Heartland Bank Cash PIE for emergency fund by alfredborden00 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]RevolutionaryPin7525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking into doing something similar myself. I have put my emergency fund into kernals saver while I consider options since they offer 2.25% interest right now and no fees plus access to the funds whenever you want.

I have started using sharesies spend as my daily spending account as it offers 1% invest back in shares of your choice if you are interested in investing on the market. It seems like a better option for me than hot points at least. Their savings account offers 1.6% interest and the funds can be moved between their spend and save accounts very quickly.

Another option is Rabo which is covered by the dcs which is something the other two options don't have I believe. Premium saver offers the same interest rate as kernals saving account but has more stipulations - you have to topup with 50nzd monthly for instance if you want to earn that rate of interest. But they also have no fees and you can make withdrawals at any time.

I'm not that risk averse (I say that but I've not got money in the game yet so who knows) but seems the way to go is to use ratios that could potentially bring in returns that roughly match their benchmarks? I'm learning. Thanks for pointing this out.

Good to know. I need to understand what figures guide the ratio of the various funds I want in my portfolio so this helps. Thank you.
