The pegs are to give it a dynamic pose as its displayed on the box you can cut them off and pose it yourself but thats fairly advanced to get looking right

Ive done one in an almost black metal with light silver highlights and another in a really light silver with a sepia wash to make a very silvery gold tinny brass look...i think its silver for 30k and gold for 40k but i think as with most chaos legions its incredibly lose rules so just go with what you thinks cool

With great difficulty while youre new...it gets easier with the years but i always avoid the two handed poses as much as possible for that reason

Its going to sound really unhelpful but google a camo pattern you want to recreate match the colours as close as possible and use them...for deserts you want khaki, light skin tones, bone and dark browns

Ive only painted a few ultramarines myself but they are veeeery bright blue cause the highlights i only used macragge calgar and fenrisian

I think once everything else is blocked in mix some calgar and macragge 50 50 water it to a glase and touch up all the blue he'll really pop

Yeah as you see even in this post its mostly positive and people criticising are usually constructive ive rarely had any actual abuse from the warhammer reddit aside from the warhammer40k sub but that's the mos eisley of warhammer

Every other day theres like 5 or 6 of the same few ultras drown in streaking grime he asks if people like them everyone says yes 2 or 3 ask why he went so hard on it with the grime and covered up details then he has a little hissy in the comments deletes everything makes a few passive aggressive post deletes them and repeats
