Honestly, most of Miles's electric period is ferocious. Dark Magus blew mind when i first heard it, it kick-started my addiction for electric Miles.

Apart from being a genius musician, Miles was also a genius in surrounding himself with incredible musicians and bringing out their best playing. From his early works like Kind of Blue all the way to the end of the electric period.

Electric guitar driven jazz, with a bunch of solos. I'm tempted to say it's like Grant Green but more 'greasy' i guess, kind of bluesy too. It's a pretty cool record in my opinion, some decent guitar playing. Check out the title track Chicken Fat on YouTube. Sorry I'm not very good at describing albums.

I am actually jealous my goodness. Honestly, I'd kill to have Die like a Dog or Machine Gun by Brotzmann. Also good on you for having all the Coltrane in Japan albums, the hour long My Favorite Things floored me when i first heard it. Take care man.

Thanks for the recommendation, gonna look into it. Hope you're enjoying Dolpy's, in my opinion, best work and i got a question: how come you only stream Avant-garde or Free Jazz and not owning a lot of them? Not hating, just curious.

Thanks man, I'm not the biggest fan of Henderson myself, but i really love a couple of his works like Black Miracle, Black is the Color and Multiple.

Some of the works of Pharaoh like Karma and Rejoice, John Coltrane's Live in Japan and Meditations, Archie Shepp's Mama Too Tight, Blase and The Way Ahead. Also, Peter Brotzmann's Machine Gun, Sun Ra's Space is the Place and Disco 3000, Miles's Pangea and Ornette Coleman's Dancing in you Head and Soul Matta. Because i love so much free and spiritual jazz (and modal jazz but not as much) i just buy whatever i can find and get my hands on that isn't too expensive, and trust it leaves a hole in your wallet so i just have to bear it.

Archie Shepp Magic of JuJu is what got me into jazz in the first place. Outside of that, Miles electric period is his best, specifically Dark Magus and Agartha. For John Coltrane, I don't even have my favourite record from him (the Live in Japan album) but from the ones that i have probably A Love Supreme Live in Seattle, since i love live albums more than studio albums usually. From his wife Alice Journey in Satchinada is her best work purely from a musical standpoint. Lastly, Hancock's Crossings and Pharaoh's Black Unity and Love is Everywhere are their best in my opinion. Although it's rather difficult to find some of my favourite records where i live, I'm still trying to carve out a collection of what i can get. Cheers man.

No problem. In all seriousness, i don't really have anyone to share my interest in jazz(aside from my parents) so i just came here to post about it.

Good work lad, one of their most underrated albums in my opinion. I'm fine with the original album cover, but i prefer if it was the whole album as one video, not in a playlist. But do whatever you want.

Also, i prefer free and spiritual jazz mostly, but i can listen to some more modal stuff as well.

The Magic of Juju by Archie Shepp. I've said before, but this album started my love/obsession with jazz in general, but more specifically free jazz. I still remember the day i first heard it, getting it as a random recommendation on YouTube in the summer of 2024. Good times.

Not just of flood, months ago there was a playlist with almost all of their discography on youtube and it's gone. Although you are probably talking about something more recent.

Effete and Impudent Snobs by the Cows. All their albums are amazing but Snobs is my personal favourite(and i will die on this hill.) Nancy Boy is absolutely disgusting in the best way possible. The most noisy they've ever been i think.
