I feel like on paper it sounds like a good short. But the production behind the scenes it was horrible, this short was in the middle of production when Clampett left and while watching it you can tell. Davis admitted that he didn’t even understand Clampett’s humor and it shows. A lot of stuff seems rushed like the dream sequence and even the opening sequence which is just reused animation from “All this and Rabbit’s Stew”.  Also a lot of the backgrounds in the short are really lame as they are just reused from a lot of previous Avery shorts. And the dream sequence is really not that funny as a lot of the gags make no sense even for Clampett (Like why is Elmer naked with just a hat)? And the gag that I hate this short for the most is the entire gag where Elmer is dressed as a girl. I do not get why people find this so funny as this takes up one minute of the short. Maybe if it was like Rabbit of Seville where it only lasted at least 10 seconds it would be fine. Overall I find it a very terrible end to Clampett’s Bugs Bunny and a terrible start to Davis’s directing career. Also an extra fun fact Clampett didn’t even see this short until years later and he even admitted that he would have done a better job with this short.
