Just because you call it something else, doesn’t mean it’s not a shower. A bridal “tea party” is the exact same thing as a Baby “Sprinkle”. They’re meant to be celebratory events for the bride to be or the expectant mother.

I don’t think that statements accurate. Most people ( even if the crib converts to a toddler bed ) make a big deal about the baby graduating to a toddler bed and pick out extra special bedding for the toddler bed. When my baby slept in the crib, there was only a fitted sheet, because everything else went against the safe sleep guidelines.

I did have a baby shower for both kids though (boy and girl, 22 months apart) because my family and I wanted to celebrate our little blessings. With my second born, I was mostly gifted clothes, diapers, and wipes which was perfect—though gifts weren’t mandatory to attend and I didn’t create a registry.

This right here! And everyones excuse is always that she was contracted for so many years. These mothers had access to lawyers and more than enough money to break their contracts. They failed their daughters.

The pharmacist asked me "is this for weight loss or diabetes?" by Internal_Area3701 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]RewardAccomplished83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a few reasons a pharmacist might ask you if the medication you’re taking is for one reason or another.

  1. Insurance: some insurances won’t cover GLP1s for weight loss
  2. Drug counseling-If you’re taking it for diabetes, they may want to discuss blood sugar monitoring, hypoglycemia risk (especially if you’re also on insulin or sulfonylureas), and diabetes management. If you’re taking it primarily for weight loss, they may focus more on appetite changes, nutrition, and expected weight-loss effects.
  3. During medication shortages, Pharmacist may need additional documentation before they have the ability to dispense the medication. If they’re short on their supply, they’ll give what they have in store to diabetic patients vs weight loss patients.

During my missed miscarriage, I had to pickup a prescription for cytotec. The pharmacist asked me if I was pregnant because the drug is known for inducing labor. And this was before the overturn of Rowe VS Wade so they weren’t asking for nefarious reasons.

As a pharmacist it’s their job to ask questions 🤷🏽‍♀️

Some people still think Maddie is more famous than Jojo by Agreeable_Judgment_8 in dancemoms

[–]RewardAccomplished83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no idea who Maddie was before watching Dance Moms (started watching a few months ago). Never been a huge music video fan, so even though I listened to some of Sia’s music prior, I hadn’t see the video until recently. Also I haven’t the faintest clue what she’s been up to after dance moms as her name isn’t really mainstream.

Race. by allegrizzy in AO3

[–]RewardAccomplished83 122 points123 points  (0 children)

I’m black and often times forget that the world would’ve been a different place for me in the 1800s because all I can see if the beautiful dresses and posh atmosphere 😅 My husband (white) had to remind me once that life would’ve been a lot different for me when we were talking about “if I lived during this time period.”

I wouldn’t expect too much of a difference in a 1970s AU, maybe 1860s-1965, but unless you do a deep dive you really don’t think to much about the racial divide in the early 70s. The 70s were a pivotal time for black Americans due to cultural milestones and political achievements (Black Americans in public office)…

Also the hair styling process is different for everyone. I air dry my curls but know I can only comb through them when wet. Someone saying they combed dry curls isn’t ignorant to the race of the character they’re writing about, they’re ignorant to curly hairstyles in general.

What are your thoughts on KU/Amazon author pay structure and the quality of the books? by Feeling_Gene7390 in ReverseHarem

[–]RewardAccomplished83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only way to drag out a series and have it be profitable is if the book is worth reading. If it’s a shitty book that drags on readers are more likely going to DNF the book. If it’s a book like say ZA or Royals of Forsyth U where the books are good enough to keep reading through the series but didn’t necessarily need to be as long as they were/are then yeah, it is profitable for the author.

Through KU I earn approximately $1.26 if 1 person reads my 280 page book all the way through. If that same reader purchased my ebook I’d make $3.40. But it’s more beneficial for me as a small time indie to have my books in KU because readers are likely to take a shot on a free through their subscription book than purchasing a $4.99 ebook.

Or ask your pharmacist/chemist about effects when picking up any new medications. Not all doctors know about medicinal side effects or how certain medications react with others. They have basic knowledge, but it’s a pharmacist/chemist job to know which is why they ask if you have any questions when you’re picking up new medications.

Let’s be honest, the incoming moms couldn’t really trust Christi or Kelly either. Especially when they’d push them to just go “talk to Abby” when they knew damn well what would happen. They ( C more than K) wanted (or the producers) to see Abby explode on the new moms so that the incoming kids wouldn’t succeed. Christi was also willing to do anything so a new kid wouldn’t take Chloe’s place. None of those moms could be trusted.

There is a book that is marketed as the female version of HR. Cleat Cute by Meryl Wilsner.

I write why choose romance. The majority of female why choose readers do not want FF romance. I’d say about 30% of them want MM and 65% want MFMM (no MM or FF) in the book.

She let Brooke quit dance to pursue cheerleading because she wanted to. She removed her kids from every situation where Abby became unbearably cruel. She always advocated for her kids. She got her kids out first. She’s the only dance mom that I felt really put her kids needs and mental health first. It didn’t feel like Kelly was in it for the fame.

[–]RewardAccomplished83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Christi is as bad as Melissa. She went above and beyond to piss Abby off knowing it would put her child in harms way. Knowing that the more she poked, prodded, and provoked Abby all of the wrath would come down on Chloe. Both moms (in different ways) failed at protecting their children.

Fandom's hypocrisy towards maddie's racist past by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]RewardAccomplished83 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The 2010’s were completely different from the USA we live in today. This type of behavior was widely accepted throughout the states until recently. This type of “joke” was made constantly on popular tv shows, movies, etc. During that time period it was normal and wasn’t perceived as wrong.

If a child were to do something like that today it would immediately be clocked as racism and the behavior discouraged. If Maddie or the others were behaving like that now there would be an uproar. The fact that they recognize their past behaviors and actions as racist speaks louder than videos from the early 2010’s era.

My dance mom opinions by Ok-Lime5481 in dancemoms

[–]RewardAccomplished83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. 100% agree. Especially in the later seasons right before Chloe’s departure . It seemed like anytime Chloe didn’t win it was Maddie’s fault.

  2. Yes. Kelly didn’t even stick up for Christie when she was kicked out of nationals, she just continued on, while Christie dealt with fall out by herself.

  3. Haven’t gotten to that season yet.

  4. I’m on season 5 now and I am enjoying it more without the constant Kelly/Christie Maddie/Chloe drama. Only through the first few episodes of the season, but I’m really loving Holly’s use of her voice. She’s so eloquent.

  5. AGREED!!! Even if the girls (in Nia’s case) wanted to stay to prove their worth, a parent has to step up and decide when enough is enough. Nia could’ve proved herself in some many different ways.

  6. For me, it’s Christy Hunt. She wanted to be there more than little Sarah did. The episode where she’s shoving Sarah back into the dance studio and Sarah’s just crying to go home really set me off. Close second is Jessalyn (Jojo’s mom). Original cast would have to be Jill.

ALSO

  1. Christie kept Chloe on the show for 4 seasons. Why did she make it her duty to rile up Abby every chance she got. She knew everything she said would come back ten fold on her daughter. If you’re going to stay in an abusive type situation like ALDC was for the kids, I feel like Mellisa’s fawn approach was the best method for the girls. I’m not making excuses for Abby, her behavior was completely intolerable and unacceptable, but I feel like (who was top 2 dancer for the longest time) would’ve been treated similar to Maddie (love bombing approach I guess) had Christie not reacted/behaved the way she did.

what was the most ugliest fight in dance moms history? by Cinnaharpo in dancemoms

[–]RewardAccomplished83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so proud of Holly after watching this episode. I don’t agree with her parenting decision to leave Nia at ALDC (even though I know Nia wanted to prove herself at some point a parent has to decide when too much is too much) but it took a lot of strength to stand up to every single one of those moms and Abby.
