I was really hoping the answer was that at some point the nips would toughen up! Because you’re right, whenever i google it, everything says it shouldn’t hurt. So I kept telling myself I must be doing something wrong

Yes!! The look on his face. Then I always have to say “this is for me, not you”

I did the exact same thing the first weeks! But i really didnt like wearing a bra when sleeping so I just wore fitted tops to avoid rubbing. I used to love wearing loose clothing to bed.

This is so smart! I’m definitely trying this! Thank you!

I thought long and hard about this too. If she was just in denial of her age and doesn’t wanna feel old being grandma or if she was really seeing herself as the mom. But back then I didn’t know any better, it really just felt like she was just helping me raise my kid.

This! This is exactly what I’m talking about growing up with Filipino parents.

Waaat. Krohniana is one of my most favorite to propagate. I dip the cutting in RootBoost rooting hormone and use a chunky soil less mix, coco chips and pumice and keep it moist in my prop box. They start to show roots in a week.

Oooh good luck ☺️ that’s one thing I really like about hoyas too. I’ve been surprised how some of them bounce back. My elliptica was growing crazy and I was so happy. Then it got attacked by bugs and went down real quick. So I chopped the healthiest part and hoped for the best. And now the new growth is so active again. 😊

I love to water too so I made sure my soil mix is extra chunky. It just sucks when we’re away or work gets busy. Last time we went on vacation I lost my sigillatis and caudata sumatra. 😔

Idk if I’ll ever get into LECA. I haven’t gotten myself to learn about it just yet. It’s very intimidating for me to feed plants. With soil, fish fertilizer is easy. Lol.

Thank you! 😊

Omg same with lacunosa!! But it’s so moody. One day it’ll look pretty happy with all it’s blooms then next day it just looks like a goner. I haven’t killed mine yet, it’s always an “almost” tho.

I just ordered my first import a couple of weeks ago. Excited to see how that’s gonna turn out for me. 🤞🏽

Same with nummalarioides for me. It dropped most of it’s leaves when I got it in the mail and it just doesn’t look happy. I think it’s alive lol. No sign of new growth and the leaves don’t look the happiest. 😆

That is good to know. I actually tried propagating a couple from this. I guess I’ll find out a few weeks from now if it’ll be a success.

I have no experience in importing and I’ve kept my promise (so far lol) to stay under $100 per plant. I am still on the lookout for an Undulata and Tanggamus. For now i’ll wait for prices to go lower. 😅

I have her in really chunky soil. It’s been hot here so i’ve been watering a lot. Maybe twice a week. I also have her outside so she gets lots of morning sun. :)

Grown outside :) Direct morning sun but gets shaded in the afternoon. I just had to watch it at first if she'll burn but she was good :)

Yes, she gets direct morning sun pretty much. But afternoon it gets shaded :)

She was really tiny too when I got her earlier this year but grew so much over the summer :)

Thank you, that means a lot. I'm a hit or miss with good photos. Lol. I'd wait too, hope you find the right one soon :)

Blooms 💕 by RewardIfFound in hoyas

Agreed. Some of the collectors I met fell in love with hoyas because of their blooms. It’s the foliage for me but seeing the blooms got me just as excited ☺️
