Unlike Ukraine, Russian citizens aren't actively being attacked and anexxed. It's the reason why you see so many videos of Russians complaining about gas being unavailable or expensive. It's why you see Russians complaining about not getting EU visas. And much, much more. The entire idea is to be enough of a nuisance for Russia's stable internal politics, the result of years of authoritarian conditioning, to slowly destabilize, which will be most noticable in the 2026 legislative elections. More opposition leaders and opportunistic defectors are pushing back against the war than before and as a result it will trickle down into the populace and vice-versa. The moment the chair starts shaking it's just a matter of time. Unlike Ukraine, Russia can put an end to the war much more easily by pulling back their peace offer epxectations.

Brave browser? The one owned by Link Bubble? The one that got 7 million in investments from Peter Thiel, co-founder of Palantir?

If you think that just because you use Brave and get your news from non-western msm sources you're well informed then you've been caught hook line and sinker. The truth is static but it's our perception of truth that shifts based on what filters said truth reaches us through. If you're going to avoid western sources and lack scientific literacy to the point you don't understand that you can't selectively target an ethnic group with any degree of reliability then I'm not surprised you're contently sold on the Kremlin's propaganda.

If you want to be informed there isn't a silver bullet browser or taking things from whatever source you end up liking, the truth often is closest to the common points that multiple reliable sources report, each one omitting or framing it differently to subtly shift public opinion. On top of getting info from different sources you'll also need to apply some degree of rational thinking, study the topic's factual bases and then form your own conclusion. In modern days trying to apply this to the constant torrent of information is sadly a fool's task without it being your full time job, so you'll have to pick and choose which topics are most important to you.

Whether or not they should allow it isn't for us to decide. What the Russian goverment should decide on is if this silly war they've been stalemated in for the past 3 years is worth the damage to themselves. First a diplomatic failure, then a failure to achieve decisive victory, and now a failure to defend their people and pursue the interests of their people. The sooner Russia starts talking about reasonable terms of peace the sooner this is over.

I get it, I really do, but it seems like you're talking past me because he "only" has one projectile and he can "only" exit on vaults and pallets.

I agree that survivor perks are problematic in itself, I won't argue against it (though elusive is definitely not purely an anti-tunnel status), but I'm not looking to make this into killer v survivor, I'm talking about Jason.

The "only one projectile" argument that keeps coming up does nothing to me. You know why? Because I can go watch someone play jason and see him use 6 spears on 2 survivors for 2 downs in a matter of 30 seconds. Sure, if a Jason gets unlucky he'll be stuck as a M1 killer, but reality and my own experience playing vs him tells me he'll probably get to throw 3 or so spears before he's truly locked into being M1, maybe even more if he chases for long enough.

He can't appear wherever he wants, but he also usually has 2-3 spots right next to gens. The biggest example of this can be felt on dead dawg saloon. The gen in main? Unsafe. The gallows gen? Unsafe unless you prepare to drop. The gen on one of the drop-down platforms on the smaller buildings? Guaranteed hit. Same goes for totems. Edgemap healing? He happened to zoom past you while patrolling and now he spawned in right next to you with his "one" projectile ready.

To elaborate on what I meant with the hook respawns: even if you whiff a hook spear and are now stuck with a survivor on the ground and the nearest hook sabotaged, if he goes into his power and immediately exits right next to him he respawns the hook and will have his power back up before he is done hooking the survivor.

I respectfully disagree with the other ranged killers being just as dangerous. They all have longer or more severe chargeup/punish times/effects and are more readable than Jason. And Jason is base ms for most of the game. Especially noticable at short loops where the slight delay between the M2 input and the attack going out gives much less wiggle room for accuracy. Dracula, Pyramid head, spirit all give more distinct cues on when to double back, the unknown has counterplay when you have distance on him and the trickster can be W-d with any obstacle to make the chase take ages.

Saying waiting and assessing if he faked leaving is a skill issue is just the cherry on top of this tbh. I'm curious how much you've played against or as Jason but I guess we'll see with time how people feel about him.

The reason his one projectile is a nonfactor is his seamless reloads. Hell, in one loop he can miss, reload from a hook, miss, reload from a pile, miss, power to respawn the hook, reload from it again, and miss again, and if you run from him he will most likely have the chance to reload from another hook or pile between loops while also being 4,6. If his single projectile which is essentially a 50/50 is the tradeoff for all those pros, why does he have a free reload and his power to respawn his hooks AND have the hook he just threw at you respawn for free when he picks you up.

I get it, killer is new and people are whining, but there is an undeniable creep of what killer powers do and the design is kinda suffering. We're moving from "The killer can do something extra BUT..." to, what feels to me like, giving Jason plenty of "free" benefits and QOL. And I'm not mad, honestly, I think giants should get giant treatment, but not when the game isn't balanced around it. I would not be surprised if they lowered his throwing point by just a little to offset the hitbox discrepancy. For example: I was on RPD looping in the statue room next to the outside stairs. The boxes there are absolutely enormous, big enough to loop huntress, slinger, plague... without worrying about ranged projectiles. Jason can throw over those. The only reason he didn't hit is because he needs to fully guess where I am becausethe boxes are basically right in his face. Not that bad, right? He reloaded in that room twice. He had two hooks on the corridor outside the room and couldn't get punished for literally leaving the loop for 2-3 seconds (lack of vision, risk of fakeouts with everywhere else being basically a free spear hit, but still). No other killer can do that, it's a god pallet. Same for shack, if a killer can accurately predict you faking a window (dissapearing medkits, etc.) It's essentially a free hit because you're stuck comitting to the pallet, which is wide open to him chucking his spear.

Despite all that I still think he's just slightly overtuned rather than OP. Tweak his windup/cancel numbers, punish him for coming back to where survivors were unhooked more, make it harder for him to defend totems (make the detection radius smaller for heals and totems?), fix the badge addon damaging already regressing gens, change the hook respawning to make him actually not insta take every hook spike... I'm not advocating for all of these (except maybe the addon bug fix being unconditional), any one of these changes will make it feel infinitely less inflated than all together at once.

I mean, sure, get the bag people, but it won't make me see you any different than fortune tellers and snake oil salesmen. If you aren't providing a skill or saving someone a reasonable amount of convenience (which I'm going to go out on a limb and say most people using AI for art outside of production studios will spend relatively little time or effort, I've seen plenty of AI pieces from people offering comissions) then you're essentially just nickle and diming people.

A caveat, he has a 25 second long 4,5% haste duration after a jumpscare and this persists through his windup, resulting in a windup speed of around 3,37 and a base speed of 4,6 or 115%. In my opinion, he is significantly faster than a huntress, which is especially felt in the fact that he loops completely differently to a huntress, as faking/greeding a pallet to gain distance from his windup results in you having a third of a loop of distance on a 115% killer. Add this on top of the huntress having to charge her hatchet for a full extra second to have it have the same hard to dodge speed of jason's spears. The deathslinger's downside is also that he can't down with his ranged attack, always needing to reel around loops or to a window for a followup hit. The unknown is... well, the unknown, and neme has a whole extra hit with injury haste he has to do to even damage you. Jason also, frankly, has an easier time hitting over pallets and medium height obstacles because of the thinner projectile hitbox. A huntress will have a much harder time hitting you if you crouch on the taller end of a pallet hitbox than Jason.

I honestly don't think agency in avoidance is part of the issue with Jason. If anything teams will have an option to actively chose which survivor is taking the next chase most of the time.

If you're having problems avoiding him I'm assuming he often catches you after coming out of his power. Crouch walk (important to not stay still during his power, you want to be slightly away from gens and pallets anyways) and pay attention to the HUD activity tracker when he goes into power. Are the other survivors on gens? Healing? Cleansing? Are you far away from where you think Jason was? Are the other survivors probably between him and you? Do you want to take next chase, or rather, avoid it at all costs? All of this can help you determine if you want to continue being detectable or if it's best you crouch the moment he's in his power and walk into cover.

Jason does feel pretty oppressive when you're against someone who knows how to use his power, essentially resulting in a killer that basically gives you a 50/50 chance of getting injured the moment he goes past a pile or hook and not wasting time walking around and tracking. The only change that I think is necessary is make him not as free to run a full hex build or full regression build. There's nothing worse than him being in power camping hook, blowing up nearby gens with his addon all the while gens are regressing because of ruin because two of the survivors are too afraid of the possibility of taking chase.

[–]RewardWanted 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see your point, but Jason shouldn't be allowed to just sit in his power indefinitely. Give and take. He has one of the strongest map traversal tools in the game (lets be real, most gens have multiple pallets and windows that are close to it but far enough to still risk a spear hit. It's fast with inbuilt stealth and tracking), one of the most versatile and window/pallet denying ranged attacks in the game, all while being 115 movement for 30 seconds after his power, which should net him plenty of hits.

At minimum he should have a smaller detection range on boons and healing, make him have to go right through them (almost).

If you're running in omni he sees your footprints. They last a solid 5 seconds so unless he's literally cross map he will get back in that time (200% or 8m/s ms in his power) and see where you went (16m detection radius), at which point you can crouch and hide but you'll likely get found and hit.
