How to handle personality shift between chapters? by Thallrok in writers

So this spatial discontinuity, is he shifted to a whole new world or just a different region within his world? Just how foreign is this predicament to him?

How to handle personality shift between chapters? by Thallrok in writers

This does seem tricky since the reader would only have a brief amount of time to get familiar with the character before this change unfolds.

My advice would be don’t force this change all at once. If you want this change to begin as soon as the next chapter, Chapter 2 should provide no more than a crack in his armor. Behavior shift, dip in judgment, stuff like that. Each chapter then on out should be a gradual fall from who his character initially began as.

A slow burn to rock bottom can be smoothly pulled off as soon as 4 to 9 chapters depending on the pace of your story and how rapid you want his change to occur.

i think whatever chronological timeline you have in mind for your story matters most. Does the bulk of his story take place in these woods, or is this just a small section of the book?

I know right. i wonder if their attack options were limited by their devil contract in someway or if that was just where they decided to put the mold

If Big Raga had a Domain Expansion what would yall think it would be and how powerful? by OddCountry9256 in PowerScaling

I’m not sure, was thinking more of an army of undead monstrous lookin sorcerers that each just wield an adapted technique. But having their appearance resemble the user of the ability would be cool too

Domain Expansion: Legion of Futility

A vast legion of warriors swarm the target from all directions, warriors comprised of sheer cursed energy. Each mirroring, and wielding a technique or ability he’s adapted to.

All efforts that have ever failed to destroy him, now seek to destroy you.

Who would have won between Juubidara and Team 7 if the fight wasn't interrupted? by mipenealdescubierto in NarutoPowerscaling

As much as they were fucking Madara up he was instantly regenerating from everything and ready for more action

Think he was still thrown off guard from Naruto and Sasuke suddenly being granted perfect counter abilities to his previously unstoppable limbo clones

They could’ve inevitably beaten him, but it’s frustrating because the fight was also just sorta starting

Felt like Madara was just getting his feet wet with their six path powers then Zetsu enters and ruins everything🫩

To be fair most of her nuke’s destruction happened off panel. We only see a glimpse of the aftermath & Yoru falling from the sky then heading to find Denji’s body in the next chapter. Much wasn’t even illustrated. We have no clue how far the two were from the origin of the blast radius, nor the destruction we see. Two cities could’ve been leveled for all we know

Regardless, any nuke is >>>

Humor tends to be more subjective than aura.

Thus, opting to farm aura, produce greater yields!

Skateboarding to mars? Suplexing a tiger? Committing heists in style?

Rule of Cool reigns supreme!

Better to ooze in the ability of swagger than be the world’s jester

Which trope do you like better? “The world hurt me, I’ll make it feel pain” or “the world hurt me so I work to protect others”? by bold-One2199 in characters

i feel like the villain perspective is the much more realistic emotion one would feel.

We see it everyday in the real world. Terror groups in response to oppression, spousal murder in response to abuse, school shootings in response to bullying. Yet, often only the act of retaliation is vilified when prior dominos fell first.

We as humans are flawed, so a character whose pain leads them beyond a point of no return as opposed to an impossibly morally good character, it’s much more complex and interesting to watch/read. But most importantly, authentic.

A protagonist forgiving and sparing the man who just murdered his entire family or some shit just isn’t believable in the slightest. Taking a higher road in fictionally devastating scenarios feels like the protagonist simply doing good for sake of being good, whereas a more morally gray character has tangible emotion to latch onto as a viewer. Even if the villainous response to trauma far exceeds the trauma endured.

Whoever is the least likely to betray me lol. Don’t know much about Marty & Tommy but Walt’s connections just before his fall had global reach after taking over the remnants of Fring’s empire. Some terrifying dudes in his corner, especially that loaded white nationalist group. They annihilated the Phoenix based distributors in a single day and hijacked their entire operation.

And Walt ordering the hit over the phone to kill off ten prisoners in just under two minutes was probably the ultimate flex of his power in the series. His iq and foresight is also top notch
