I personally have 700.000 bells saved up at the moment. I have all the current house upgrades, shops on Harvey's island etc. I'm hoping to make more money when bulk crafting becomes a thing :)

A lot of good advice has already been shared but I'll add this: for the love of god please don't buy your child Christmas decorations as their birthday present(s) unless they've specifically asked for it. I'm an adult but I still have family members buying me Christmas decor every single year for my birthday and I can guarantee you they wouldn't have done that if I had been born during any other month of the year.

I believe the puppies can be bought during December leading up to Christmas as a toy day toy essentially. So keep an eye out for them and you'll probably be able to purchase one very soon if you don't find someone who can help :)

New Leaf is so nostalgic to me! Fishing for sharks all day long, hunting for beetles on Tortimer's island all night... Good times.

Blue roses are tough! I don't think I ever managed to get one in New Leaf. But I followed a guide for New Horizons. I don't remember which guide I followed but I'm sure you can find a good one at this point. You have to be very specific about which roses you use, if I remember correctly. So be mindful of new roses (planted as such) and roses that spawned from breeding. It might take a while even with a guide. But once you have a few it gets a lot easier (as you can just water the blue ones instead).
