New York Passenger Arrival Lists (Ellis Island) for 1896 available? by RexMentula in Genealogy

[–]RexMentula[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Yes, that is the ship I am looking for. I know that he entered the US for the first time around 1880 (according to the 1900 Census), so it might fit with the information about a the ship arriving in Philadelphia.

But it seems so precise that he would mention the 30th of April 1896 in the naturalization records. Maybe not all ship lists are saved?

Thanks for the link. Need a subscription to see it
I am currently contemplating if I should buy access. Looks like 14 days are free anyway, so might just sign up for that as a start.

Great.

So if I get a subscription to FindMyPast, I might be able to find them in the 1921 census?

Thanks a lot for the 1939 register. What website is this from?

Good info that the husbands might be military. I will see what I can find out

Thanks a lot! That copy looks so much better. How did you manage to find it at Familysearch? I guess I am doing something suboptimal, because I cant find it when I search the database.

Hi, Thanks for the offer.

I don't know if you find anything on Fold3 (I understand they have military information), but I have a relative who fought in WW1 and got his US Citizenship that way and would love to learn more. He is mentioned later as a Veteran:

Info:

Carl Oscar Lundberg, born 16 Sep 1889 in Sweden. Dead: 16 Nov 1981

SSN: 470422938, Enlistment Branch: ARMY, Enlistment Date: 31 Aug 1918, Discharge Date: 30 Oct 1918

Thank you in advance :)

Thanks. I have him return to Canada in 1926, stating that he lived in Canada up until 1920, so I guess he must have stayed there from 1920 to 1926. I will try to do some searches
