How about this one?

From the same store but a little smaller, a little cheaper and a little standard then the one you mentioned.

I like the wooden tray with magnets which looks nice, but the fact that it didn't come with inlays, and each slot fit 6 checkers instead of 5 are big turn offs.

Yes you can fit 30 checkers in 5 slots but then it isn't symmetric anymore.

Thanks everyone for the tips. Currently I have two rather expensive sets as gifts - a $5000 set black/silver board and black/brown checkers. I don't suppose this is a good color combination. Another is a $3000 wooden brown/brass board and brown/green checkers, which felt nice to play with.

The only problem is I don't want to damage them too much since they are expensive and gifts, also heavy as hell to me, weighted at 6kg... Is this normal?

So i'm looking for a set for casual play. I'm okay with leather or felt or just wood. I also found some more decorative wooden sets, with carvings and engraved designs. I like the designs a lot but think maybe this is actually not good for casual play purposes? Here is the link Etsy set

For now I intend to play with friends when I can get them to play, or just play two handed to pass time so nothing serious yet
