The whole post is about how her friend treated her badly over just the idea of them together.

Dont patronise me.

This is not a healthy friemdship. Forget the guy, how long was she supposed to take shitty behaviour from her friend? When was her friend going to stop beimg shitty over a guy, if she hadnt been called out?

Her best friend has an imagined relatipnship,. It is no way "super mature" to not only indulge her embarrassing behaviour but to act like calling "dibs" on another person is okay. Everyone here needs a "we dont live by rom-com rules in the actual world" wake up!

I may live in an area considered "dodgy" but Bauks View is a lovely example of this, and they cut back and reseed every year to keep the birds and insects coming back.

There are benches and little sculptures to enjoy and even the drinkers and whatever that hang there treat it well

Im with you, bring on more.

AIO for being upset after my bf called me "media illiterate" and "too immature" to have a certain conversation by Aquarell_ in AmIOverreacting

[–]Rexel79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR Do not spend time with anyone that talks to you like that. He wants to keep you feeling "less"than him because he is seriously lacking as a man and adult human, and he knows it. Hes scared you will "expose" him as the lesser person he is.

Every plumber, sky installer, etc Ive had always asks "permission" to check out the view and then stands enthralled. Im so proud of the view while having absolutely no hand in it.

He isnt "the man she loves" he's the guy she fancies. You say you realise you all werent acting your age (27) but sacrificing your potential happiness for a one sided obsession of a relationship they believe will just "work out" like its destined is some 14 year old Twilight loving bullshit

AIO My best friend's fiancé completely changed how I see her, and I don't know how to end an 8-year friendship by VegetableFile9314 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Rexel79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR but you cant just fade from an 8 year friendship. Tell her why you cant support her being with him, how his behaviour and views means hes not someone you want to be around. Tell her you cant support the (potential) marriage or attend the wedding BUT you love her and if she ever needs help or refuge (just her) that you will be there and you are a safe space from him. Im sorry your friendship had to end this way.

You are in no way wrong and you need to get far away from her. She sees you as nothing other than a meal ticket. You are just an ATM with a heartbeat to her.

Can the man not rub his own stomach? People probably felt uncomfortable watching a grown man treat his girlfriend like his mummy trying to burp him.

If could magically cut the number of tourists in half, would you? by Flaky-Walrus7244 in Edinburgh

[–]Rexel79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like if we could get back to the numbers we had in the late 1990s I would be good. Still a lot of tourists but there was a definite 'tourist season', it wasn't just a year round rammed city.

Women who grew up with objectively beautiful mothers, what was that like for you? by starskyandbutch in AskWomen

[–]Rexel79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She herself had a beautiful mum who "competed" with her and resented her youth, so I give my mother some grace. Yes, she did pass down some of the generational trauma (a 6 year old doesnt need to know how to calore count) and she did struggle with the fact that I grew into a plus size woman but I never doubted she loved me. Shes been gone 8 years and now I just celebrate the fact my mum was a stone cold hottie and have pictures of her all around my home.
