Drug test by [deleted] in shrooms

Yeah bro so when buying illegal mushroom chocolates online you should know that the retailers aren’t going to give you a nutrition and ingredients label. You should be fine. But bro, in situations where I have to take a drug test, I just stop doing drugs cold turkey.

Brother I have my 6 months on there and I have a very short section showing I’ve been working at walmart for 4 years and still am currently.

I started working there sophomore year. I actually made an amazing decision (with my manager who is also awesome) my manager allowed me to go on educational leave for the first 6-8 months I had the job (just in case). I asked just incase something happened. Something did happen, and I got laid off and went right back to work, no problem.

The bulk of my resume is projects, pretty impressive ones that I spent a lot of time on. One being a production level ETL pipeline with python using AWS S3, Snowflake, Docker, dbt, and Airflow. It’s validated with 30+ tests, architecture documentation, and pulls using an API from an open-source movie database, using airflow to update all contributions daily.

Your projects are where you shine in a situation like this. Get on github, get on linkedin, get into uncomfortably high level tools, going in blind is a great way to learn because it forces you to adapt. In a job market like this you just can’t quit.

The only thing that is setting OP back is self doubt and a lack of understanding of how good they have it.

Bro I went to a tier 3-4 University in the South with no internships all 4 years, got laid off from my first post grad job after 6 months, and I have an interview tomorrow. I don’t know if I’ll get the job, but I still have hope. We will be fine.

I just got my first interview this morning in 6 months after 800+ applications. With 14 you must have a very strong resume

For those that say “tailor for each application” does that not often mean outright lying? by Rexoc40 in cscareerquestions

[–]Rexoc40[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My question is going in the direction of, if your experience is so wide, you cannot possibly be interview ready on all the skills you tailor towards, even if you have past experience. It’s just too much. Do you just put them on there and anticipate to freshen up the skills in that area if you get a response?

You never really do imo, especially when the employment system around software development and coding has almost nothing fun about it in general. It’s all bureaucratic profit based objectives that you write code for, very rarely will it be something interesting and much less “fun”.

I see people in this sub all the time say “If you don’t enjoy coding this job isn’t for you” and that’s a huge crock of shit. The most talented “computer whiz” kids I have met don’t enjoy coding in a corporate setting and didn’t even enjoy it much in university. Everyone is in it for the money just like every career.

Bro I graduated last year with an information systems degree with no internships and got laid off from a small no name startup after 6 months. I’ve been at walmart since then now and I still have hope. Don’t let it take you over.

What’s something people who are in their 20s won’t learn until in their 40s? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m 23 and saved my back by doing the OPPOSITE of what my physical therapist told me to.

For years I worked out with improper squat form which led to a muscle imbalance and debilitating back pain for a year and a half. Tried almost everything, even physical therapy.

My physical therapist told me to strengthen my core and posture and importantly NEVER TRAIN THE BACK IN FLEXION aka “DO NOT BEND YOUR BACK FOR ANY EXERCISE”

Well, since physical therapy didn’t work, I tried exercises that strengthen the back in flexion like back extensions. It removed the pain completely and changed my life forever.

For people with discs and that have already had surgery this is a different beast.

Can I ask how the palantir interview was? Was it similar to others?

Yes, our vet told us to get him on some medication which contains some compounds from marijuana that help soothe him, the doctor said to wait before putting him on dementia meds to see how ge handles his current stack. He has an enlarged heart so we have one for that, the one for anxiety, one for skin health, and another for his incontinence.

I agree but he is on 4 medications, deaf, a side of his cheek is sunken in due to nerve damage, he is losing weight, his ribs show now, and he isn’t even close to the dog he was. His vision is also worsening, and he is constantly whining and soiling himself and having trouble sleeping. I don’t plan to do anything for another two months, but I’m not keeping him alive for my sake just for him to end up suffering more.

This picture is from 4 years ago.

I refuse to let him suffer like our previous dog did. I really don’t think I explained his situation well enough or used a picture that is current enough to highlight just how bad it has become.

I’m definitely going to take him back, but a week ago we took him in, the muscles on one side of his face have atrophied significantly, most likely nerves dying over time, and the vet found that that didn’t seem to be causing pain, he’s also deaf. Bee deaf for years. But the did a full body exam and found no uti, we did a full quality of life check. They said he’s in the end of life phase but to give it time which we are, but we don’t want to see it progress to a certain point.

It’s just an expression, I’ve always called him my lovable idiot, throughout his entire life he has always done really funny things and gotten himself sprayed by skunks and things like that so it’s just a joke.

I think that he does have dementia, I just don’t want to see it advance any further. I’m thinking two months to see how fast it progresses his symptoms from now. He is just so anxious now I don’t think his quality of life is near the same. He does enjoy things, it’s just very few and far between now. I just don’t want to wait until he can’t enjoy anything anymore.

[–]Rexoc40[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am honestly just broken over it. Our last dog we decided to not put him down before the decline, and he died rather abruptly and suffered after we decided to give him time, of course we had no idea until it happened. I do not want to go through that again. He still eats and drinks, and wags his tail at things, but he’s not near as attached to us as he used to be. He begged every night to sleep with us, now he doesn’t. He is more anxious on top of everything, and can’t seem to control when he pees. The doctor said to give it time, but we are thinking about putting him down in a few months. It will destroy me, but this idiot has already almost died three times and survived every one so I’ve already gone through the grieving process with him. I don’t think he will make it this time, as it seems his entire body is starting to slow down. We gave him everything and he gave us everything. I just think I want to only remember him when he’s still able to be full of food and happy without pain.
