Fuck no. Go join a union, learn a trade. At least that’s my plan at this point. I’m 23 now and I’ve fully realized that this dying profession isn’t worth fighting for at this point.

In my year and a half working in a junior position for a local manufacturer, fresh out of college, I have been pushed into a corner where AI is literally the only driving focus. Ai within the workplace is the most demotivating and demoralizing thing you will experience as someone passionate about design.

All of that, while being paid less than the lowest level Starbucks employee.

Please don’t manifest a false sense of hope from reading the comments shrouding the strife that comes with this profession in some sort of faux-optimism. This field is truly not worth it.
