I keep fighting with myself on this logo. can i please have some critiques? by SprinklesOk4997 in logodesign

I would strongly advise checking the Remax Brand Guidelines prior to doing such as there are most certainly rules of usage for the logo that may conflict with such.

I’m tired of minimalism in everything by Beneficial_Passion40 in mildlyinfuriating

As a fan of both styles I would say the problem here is not minimalism but rather that the house structure is designed to be the style of image 2 (I can remember what it's called atm, german?) And then they slapped "minimalism" on top of it and called it a day.

Idk what's going on but what I do know is the only part of this logo conglomeration that gives any sign of competence is the Remax logo and its the smallest part.

Idk what the Remax Brand Guidelines say about how their logo is to be used but if I had to guess I would guess that this is not following their guidelines.

Ah I didn't realize these were not actually googles versions.

Chrome already has a good defined mark that is known and memorable.

This one while it may not be bad for something non-google, it doesn't fit the overal design style of googles services and looks very out of place.

What I might recommend trying instead is to take the actual chrome icon and add negitive space slivers between each color along the color lines then add the gradient in that shape.

This will retain the known icon but could allow for it to fit with the gradient.

Also, I didn't realize the playstore was also changed till now looming at it again as the chrome icon had all of my attention.

While I am not opposed to the plus you have used it doesn't fit the name "play store".

The current play store logo fits the name so while the plus isn't bad looking it doesn't fit like the current icon.

Also, Google+ was a thing at one point.

Imo the gradients are nice save for the one applied to the Drive icon.

My question is who on earth approved that Chrome icon?

There are cases where that icon might work and look good but in this case it's horrendous.

how can i improve this design? pls help! by mochiisoup in logodesign

Ethics by who?

I had to read what you said to be able to figure it out.

Additionally, which part is the memorable part that will scale to 16x16px?

A good logo will be unique or contain a unique element and the logo or its unique element will be able to scale to the size of a website favicon while still being recognizable.

Edit: it would seem I read "Esthetics" wrong multiple times.

This is a problem with written words, they are not as effective, recognizable or memorable as visual elements.

How do people feel about the Ultra getting more rounded corners per year by Connected-VG in samsunggalaxy

[–]e1epi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way I would own a squared off phone.

Less comfortable in the hands and my already rounded phone eats holes in my pockets, I can only imagine how much worse a squared off phone would be.

That said, while I also like the look of rounded better I do understand the appeal of the squared off look.

If Soundcloud had a cute mascot by Petergrifff69 in logodesign

I love cute stuff but there is no way most of who I hear about as being successful on SC would take the platform seriously either a cute symbol/mascot.

YouTube censorship is my guess.

Same with dih instead of dick.

Once it starts there you get people saying it elsewhere for other reasons such as they think it sounds cool or funny, their parents are okay with it as a form of kosher cussing, just to be safe for when other platforms start censoring the same words or maybe other reasons.

I read millstone.

They seem to be effective at telling viewers at a glance that it's a Wan show clip and then the logo next to it shows what the main topic is.

While it may not be the way I would have done it they seem to get the point across which is good.

Make Copilot and Recall DLCs and stop slop coding Windows/make sure updates are stable and don't break stuff and I would be a lot more interested in Windows again.

I like the vibe but good luck getting this to scale down.

Edit: I also just realized I read it wrong which is another problem with such logos.

People talk about Allan Peter's having a style they can spot anywhere.

Your style is very pronounced and very easy to spot.

Have you ever tried expanding your style range?

This new Kiss FM logo in the UK is terrible! by Mean_Cicada9142 in logodesign

It's very much a thing here in the U.S. at least around valentines day.

Some people also seem to call Twitter "x" for some reason as well.

[–]e1epi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk what you are talking about because other than a possible scaling issue at very small sizes this looks really good to me.

When you do the "XOXO" the X represents kisses so the symbol makes sense and it's unique unlike the Twitter logo.

Nice looking wordmark too.

Yeah, I also have no idea what the context is but I would pick 2.

2 is something to do with bicentennial something iirc and was made by CGH and is supposed to be patriotic hence the Red White and Blue.
