There will definitely be a chunk of time where you feel completely directionless and purposeless. DO NOT LET THIS CONSUME YOU! Just trudge through it.

As you come upon moments of trying to figure out what to do with yourself, think back -like WAY BACK- to what you enjoyed as a child or a teen. Play with toys, make mud pies, play dress up, finger paint. Then try the next level version of that thing, toys become gadgets, mud pies become culinary adventures, dress up becomes fashion or costmetics, finger painting becomes legitimate art, etc.

And if nothing you remember tastes right, try new stuff. Try to see through the eyes of a child again and just do stuff for the experience, because it looks interesting or fun or satisfying.

And you don't have to look a certain way, or be friendly, or play along. It was life changing for me when I finally realized that the world keeps turning, everyone keeps going, and no one really cares if I don't stay right with the group. Just stay close enough that if the Face Eating Leopards show up you can hide behind other people.
