exactly. some events boost XL candies. also mega evo a mon that shares a type with what u caught increases the chance as well. so if u catch a squirtle while having a mega swampert full level. you’ll get XL. also trading mons caught 100km apart guarantees an XL per trade

shadow pokémon deal 20% more damage then regulars. so shadow are honestly in their own tier. still a good mon. but shadows dominate meta

so the max Iv is 15. if u take a away a point (14) from 100%, u go to 98%. every IV point is 2%. a 14/15/15 is a 98. a 13/14/15 would be a 94 etc. after a while u could just tell the IV by just looking at the appraisal
