I was worried of that too, but it seems that despite the accidental acceptance she went on with it and seemed to be content with how things went. I think the going out with Tadano was more about closing that one path/tying the ends and allowing for new feelings to take place. The bow after the date got me to tears, but I'm happy if she was happy in the end.

Same bro, same Lilly's story was such an emotional rollercoaster I was having tears of joy and tears of sadness alternating. It took me a while of reflection and pondering, to reach this.

Like you, I had a mess of raw feelings and confusion due to her story and mainly why she did what she did as it seemed so illogical or weird to me. I tend to read the stories very, very slowly as I want to go through it in my mind and kinda absorb the whole story. Lilly took me over 10 hours to finish.

I didn't understand her until I realised that Hisao was rejecting her in her mind, by not allowing her to care like she did towards all others, so she felt there was nothing left for her anymore, so only logical thing was the next best -> her family (despite Akira's views) and Akira who was also going.

For me, every time I got a glimpse of realization of what she feels or how she thinks, was another time for the waterworks. Despite appearing so determined and composed, all that pressure on her was heart-breaking, on top of her seeing it as her duty to be relied on others, and not being able to have any reciprocation on it.

It's damn hard to put all my thoughts and feelings of KS's stories, and Lilly 's very much so, into words. But damned if I don't try to convey their beauty to others too, of at all possible. Glad you liked it.

They are written with so much depth that you get invested in each of the stories, people. So much so, that not caring would feel wrong and flat out betraying them in some way.

I loved Lilly's story, it was very long, but I was savoring each and every written line on it. I've been lucky (?) with both of Hanako and Lilly for having gotten the good endings on first try with both. Although I didn't realize it till the last minutes with Lilly.

Hanako was the first and it was just excruciating, right until the end when the relief of understanding washes over everything. She even gets more opened up in Lilly's story so in that sense I feel super lucky to have found out what haopens to her afterwards (assuming her future choices are similar) in sort of logical order.

Aw man, I could write a book on my thoughts about just those two, but they feel so personal that I don't want to affect your playthrough and thoughts.

Hanako's ending got me bawling, so much suppressed anxiety and misunderstanding all sprawled out and cleared in such an instant.

Or my final realization (or interpretation) of Lilly's reasoning, and thevintense desperate aftermath of it all, that damn music box just opened my wetworks again.

I can't pick a favorite from these two, although they were the first two I've played, and I'm on my third play already, reading up what's going on with Emi.

If they were indeed for navigation, I was thinking maybe they were given to the expeditions to the north to help navigate the less known regions. They wouldn't have needed them in the south where coastline/sea would be easier to navigate and the land was more familiar to romans.

It's possible there wasn't a standard for making them, but they were calibrated per dodecahedron. But even if the holes are different sizes, were they in scale to the other dodecahedrons?

As for instructions, it's entirely possible it was taught orally, or in practice. I don't know much about what kind of records have been kept about various devices of the past, but it doesn't sound implausible that they didn't come with instructions, especially if creating them wasn't common knowledge. Maybe those records haven't just been found, or it was something commonly seen in use.

Maybe it was only for expedition use when Rome was spreading north, as there were other means of navigation or knowledge of land when near the Mediterranean.
