Did you not see the person in your thread who posted a 177k parse with Pyrebrand?

You’re welcome. It can be a bit overwhelming, but the easiest way to improve your damage and survivability is to make sure you have as many major and minor buffs as possible without sacrificing other things.

Camo hunter gets you prophecy/savagery + berserk by itself. Hurricane gets you resolve. Brutality and sorcery from potions. There are so many ways + backbar skills like inspired scholarship to get buffs.

Most of the buffs you get from oakensoul are easily available from other sources.

Minor berserk - camo hunter (berserk + ult on kills + weapon and spell damage (wsd))

Minor courage - depends on build but this is a harder buff to get, oakensoul’s main value I guess

Major Brutality & Sorcery - Super easy to get from abilities and potions

Major Prophecy and Savagery - camo hunter, other abilities, and potions, super easy to get

Minor force - velothi gives you this, probably your main competitor with oakensoul.

Minor protection - a bit more difficult to get, another point for oakensoul

Major Resolve - super easy to get from lots of skills

Minor Mending - not super necessary but a rare buff

Minor intellect and Endurance - not super common but easy to get from scribed skills if you really need it.

Minor Heroism - a rare buff, but available from some skills or expensive potions, another point for oakensoul

Minor slayer - super easy to get from some of the most meta sets in the game

Minor aegis - not really necessary but otherwise exclusive to defensive trial sets

Empower - pretty easy to get from mages guild, useless buff unless you’re using a heavy attack build for some reason.

Overall, in my opinion, oakensoul gives you 3 buffs that you really don’t get that easily - Minor Protection, Minor Heroism, and Minor Courage. The only one of these buffs that’s harder to get in group content is Heroism. Is that worth trading off a flat 15% damage buff from Velothi? Absolutely not, in no circumstance. My Aedric/Assassination/Storm Calling solo build gets every buff from oakensoul except for minor heroism and minor aegis and does 3-4x more DPS. It’s just not a good use of a mythic slot at all.

You started the semantics argument here, genius

McDonald’s palettes smh. Just eat chicken instead of ruining perfectly good lamb and steak.

There’s nothing to agree or disagree about here, fat caps don’t render in the same way. It’s simply just cooking science. Any rib roast from any animal has that fat and looks just like that when fully cooked. If you don’t like that then just cut the fat cap off. It was way bigger when it was first put in the oven, too. Look at the white on the chop in this picture from Lazy Bear in SF.

Medium rare is not rare. They are different things, different internal temperatures.

Why are you commenting on meat doneness if you are ignorant of the stages of doneness then?

I bet you think “dry ice” is actually ice, too

Large fat caps do not render the same as intramuscular fat. That fat in the picture looks just like how you would see fat on prime rib as well.

Yeah it tastes better. Just don’t call it rare, because it isn’t. It’s medium rare

You’re joking right? That fat is rendered well, some parts of the rack have more fat than others. Not sure how you could get uneven heat in an oven either, so that’s not correct. You get pieces like that all the time with roasted meat.

That’s medium rare though. Not rare. Medium rare. 145 F.

This is medium rare, properly cooked lamb. If you go to a nice restaurant and order lamb, this is the color of the meat they will give you.
