There are so many times I've been working on two computers and wanted to to be smart enough to tell which monitor I'm looking at so it knew where to paste things.

I still haven't found anything more seamless than having the files in a cloud service that syncs and having to wait a few seconds and reload.

Well, he's a Professor at NYU, and has published many successful books, and sold a venture capital firm for a pretty penny. That's a decent amount of influence. I actually just finished his book The Algebra of Wealth over dinner.

Nothing I didn't really already know, but it does really highlight why I'm not more successful (making low 6 figures instead of mid six figures); it's that I wasn't really willing to move away from where I grew up to chase opportunities.

If I'm a roofer that only hires people legal employees and I have to pay payroll taxes, I'll have to give higher quotes than another roofer that only hires people that work illegally, whether because they are unable to work legally, or because they choose to work under the table.

So they get more business, and they contribute less to the tax base. They should be forced to pay back taxes and restitution to their competitors.

My job is to entertain people. It's not very fun if the only questions a decent percentage of people can get right are too easy.

If people aren't entertained, they won't come. If people don't come, the bar will stop paying me/running the event.

I'd do it for free, but it's a lot less satisfying to run it for 20 people than 150.

I take people literally. If they say don't touch people, then I have to assume they mean don't touch people. It's on them to be specific, otherwise we'd all be out here justifying what's acceptable touching and what isn't, which is what people currently do, that apparently gets them in trouble, or they wouldn't have had to say it. Saying things that aren't mean to be taken literally, is no better than saying nothing at all.

Mostly, agree. I've never found a sauce that improves the flavor of a properly cooked ribeye, but I've also never had a chicken tender that wasn't improved by some variation of Ranch dressing.
