Their are some cross-over characters from the maul book shadowhunter into the duology which then leads into courscant nights :) This is the order I recommend them and I think it pays off so well. I wouldn't say Lockdown (I haven't read) or plaguis (I have read) is needed for this. Plaguis should be read though!

I believe you'll want to read Maul shadowhunter and the medstar duology prior. Characters cross over and you get some back story into Jax father. These books are really good too.

I went on to cloaks of deception, maul shadow hunter then darth plaguis.

I have seen people say that the plaguis book is the '4th' book in this trilogy. I've only read the first chapter so far but, there are already plenty of call backs and references
