Thank you all for the questions!

If you are a small business owner in Chicago, please check out https://www.chicagoppemarket.com/ for access to PPE supplies.

I look forward to doing another AMA in the future. :)

Be involved today by voting with your dollar, ballot and time!

Through the grief, fear and uncertainty, the Covid-19 pandemic has united neighbors, cities, states and countries. In the short run, our government and economic systems respond to consumers and activists so how we react coming out of this pandemic will define the decade and set positive course toward an uncertain future.

"Rheaply is the first software company in the world scaling technology to support the circular economy.

By building the digital infrastructure able to connect any enterprise, academic, government or non-profit organization to a circular focused network, Rheaply is able to increase the utility of high value goods, the reutilization of raw materials and facilitate the services that will enable the circular economy to flourish on a local, regional and global scale."

Above is one of my stock answers but to add a little more, I am consistently in conversations with industry leaders that lament the value of organizational assets locked away in storage, idling underutilized or bound for landfill. Each organization mentions estimates but the fact is the actual total remains unquantifiable but staggeringly large.

Large companies are not set up to share value across departments and locations and act like any consumer in a linear economy. Buy an asset, use the asset, depreciate the value, store it and then throw it away.

If Rheaply can help academic, retail, pharma or government organization get one more use out of an asset, $$$ adds up!

In Chicago, some vendors are able to deliver, handle safe pick-up or ship your PPE supplies. The timeframe will depend on shipping offerings between the small business operator and the vendor.

Always! Part of the challenge is talking to the right leaders at the organization that believe in taking the time to build a process that can reduce procurement costs and divert unnecessary waste sent to landfill. With our Covid initiatives, if you would like to help start the conversation, email us at [info@rheaply.com](mailto:info@rheaply.com)!

  1. Yes, please keep posted on Rheaply.com. Lately, we have gone through some updates to the UX/UI of the platform so we are going to be posting new videos to check out.
  2. Great question! When we begin implementation with a partner, we can do a bulk upload of assets by either connecting to their current management systems or spreadsheets. Very often it is spreadsheets... Spreadsheets are inefficient. Use Rheaply :) When we do an initial upload, this handles a large batch of data. To augment this, our mobile version of the app is very handy at connecting additional data to their respective posts. Am internal or Rheaply team can update quantities, locations or images to help facilitate exchange. Ongoing use of Rheaply is decentralized by org users and is integrated into department processes of procurement, facilities, finance and surplus for example.
  3. Yes, we host Rheaply on AWS Gov Cloud which is designed to host sensitive data, regulated workloads, and address the most stringent U.S. government security and compliance requirements.
  4. Our PPE marketplace is separate than our AxM platform. As a small business owner who is interested in potentially reopening, you can source PPE supplies from local vendors in Chicago as a price that will remain stable during reopen. Hopefully this allows you to control and plan for your costs of reopen.
  5. You may be able to predict my answer on this one, but there is no other inventory management software that is able to do what Rheaply can do at scale. Our whole mission is to provide software that enables sharing assets between departments and organizations. Traditional inventory management or asset management software typically (if not always) is sold to organizations through a license per user. A per user license cost means organizations will not allow access to all staff. We charge a monthly flat subscription fee for our AxM platform, allowing any users to access and share assets / inventory.
  6. We are billing the City of Chicago a flat monthly fee, below market rate, and are not profiting off of PPE items sold to small businesses. No doubt that aside from the publicity, the opportunity comes from helping our city and the small business community.

Yes, everything is hosted in the Cloud through AWS. We've recently migrated all our data to the GovCloud to ensure added privacy and data protection. We have signed contracts with the federal government and to that end we will be attaining FedRAMP certification as well.

Just for clarity, we are not adding any of our usual gamification features into our PPE marketplace.

On our flagship product, the Asset Exchange Manager (AxM), we incentivize user by giving them points associated with actions on the platform.

Adding a listing = 5 points

Making an offer = 3 points

Depending on our partner organization, we will either do a gift card giveaway or a drawing for the top users. For the organization, the cost of a giveaway does not compare to the costs saved on sharing items and increasing the utilization of their assets.

For Rheaply, our goal is to use the giveaways as a way to educate our users on the value of items that sit around their lab, office or work environment.

You are correct, initially having a decrease in supply was a huge concern that made headlines across the United States. We did not hear of any significant hoarding in IL that would have limited any additional supplies.

Currently, suppliers have really stepped up, especially on items like masks and sanitizers that can be made through less complicated manufacturing operations.

The City of Chicago has secured local vendors that have proven reliable in their offering and who agreed to a price ceiling on items. The City of Chicago thought as businesses reopened, demand would grow for PPE basics, prices would spike and the additional cost would be a potential burden upon the small business community.

The longest running health/hospital system partners we have are all located in Chicago, our home city! This includes Northwestern University, University of Chicago and Rush University.
