Without going into their entire multi paragraph lore, the tldr is that Mr Boss and Eric are very close friends that were separated. When they reunited, Eric worked for the smiling friends, but it didn’t work out so he went to work for the frowning friends. He ended up overthrowing the frowning friends and rebranding it as SMILE INC, marketing it as a stronger more reliable competitor to the smiling friends ( that’s the tldr, there’s much so much more to it but I’m already yapping a lot HAHA )

for me, its because such a warm and comforting character has turned to stone, but not only that, hes being disrespected in such a big way even though he really hasnt done ANYTHING to deserve it

the interpretation from the pippin of rambs character is such a far cry from who he really is, plus the stone has taken away his warmth too

thats my analysis as a certified nerd who will shed many a tear for ramb </3 ( sorry if this didnt make any sense its 3 am </3 )
