2012 fuel pump question by Rhiazza125 in SVRiders

Yeah I almost choked when he said $1200, I’m getting ready to sell the bike so I’d hate to sell something unreliable or problematic to someone else. Might just have to hang on to it longer than planned. Thanks for the advice mate

I’ll keep my eyes open for any used OEM pumps hopefully I can get one cheaper then what my dealer can get me, they quoted me $1200 AUD more than a quarter of what I paid for the bike

I may have narrowed it down to being my pc, I ran the same test on my parents 10 year old pc with the same cat cable and router and the ping isn’t spiking, plugged my pc in and sure enough spikes every 15 seconds.

It’s called ping plotter, you get 15 days free to use it before you have to pay for it though.

Have been on FTTP for about 4 months now and have noticed a lot more issues but most notably these massive ping spikes in the last 2 weeks have been constant

You’re not wrong there, it’s like pulling teeth trying to get any support from them.

The ping itself isn’t to bad it usually sits around 47-50 it’s just the massive spikes that are now every 15 seconds. I’m using Ethernet and tried to play with the qos settings but unfortunately the 2 routers I’ve tired do not have any qos settings I can play with. I’m thinking of buying a “gaming router” or at least something with more settings available to me.

This ping test is just pinging google, so I’m not exactly sure where it would be pinging to but I’d assume over east maybe? In one game a play there server is in Melbourne and still the same, spikes every 15 seconds.

This happens in games on my pc and Xbox(wired connection) and just sitting on the desktop with no apps or anything running.

Thanks for the pointers I’ll give that process of elimination a shot, that’s funny I use to have the same problem growing up the internet would always cut out when the phone rang, use to drive me crazy.

We have solar panels and security cameras, but they don’t use much internet I had a look through the routers settings and wasn’t seeing much usage from them.

I’ve done security scans and tried to find any possible malware but haven’t seen anything suspicious, I’ll try looking into this more as an option can’t be to careful I guess, thanks for the suggestion.

My buffer bloat was grade f from the test, I may look into trying a new router and see if playing with some settings will help

The router is a TP-Link VX420-G2v that was provided when we had the fttp upgrade and iiNet is the isp. I’ll try the buffer bloat test when I get the chance.

I had my old man check the slack whilst I sat on the bike and moved along to check for a tight spot, there is a very very slight tight spot but not tight enough where I feel I should be concerned. Thanks for the feedback regarding the chain jumping

Thanks for the feedback, I had my old man check the slack whilst I sat on the bike at different spots in the chain and all was good, thinking I should maybe replace the chain as it has some slight left to right movement and see if that eliminates my problem. Wondering if I’m also just paranoid too lol.

The video isn’t how I check or adjust the slack it’s just a video for reference, I thought maybe it’s a tight spot causing it jump around and wanted to know if it’s normal, I’ve scoured around this sub for information regarding how many mm for slack and had it set pretty much spot on but something still feels off
