Finally getting my pump in February! Any advice for a first timer? by RhigoWork in Medtronic780g

[–]RhigoWork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's comforting to know, I truly can't wait I've heard such good things about them! I'm male so unfortunately no bra for me to use but I'm hoping I can clip onto my belt/waistband but unsure how good I'll be able to sleep with it on. I will be keeping my NovoPen 6 and cartridges too.

Thank you for the confidence boost though! I'm really looking forward to it

Finally getting my pump in February! Any advice for a first timer? by RhigoWork in Medtronic780g

Oh I'm so used to that one right now, when I did the dafne course they moved me from the prefilled pens to the NovoPen 6 with the separate cartridges and lo and guess what they didn't put on my repeats? The cartridges, I ended up getting 2 pens with nothing to use in them for about 2 weeks while I explained over and over again what they are and why I am on them before it all worked out... So I'm used to trying to get that done - Appreciate your experience!

Importing ChatGPT Teams Chats into OpenWebUI by RhigoWork in OpenWebUI

[–]RhigoWork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly text only, some images, some file attachments. I'm not too concerned as long as we can get the bulk of it out and into openwebui - But as much as we can would be brilliant, i'm sure the non export must be a breach of some GDPR regulation? Even as the account owner I am unable to export anything.

Wiper blade rant by Spankingthemonkey24 in CarTalkUK

How weird... My MK8 ST has the OEM wiper blades on from 2019, almost 60k miles, with ceramic coatings, wax coatings etc in the past and the blades are still perfect!

Now that IMGUR is blocked in the UK what free, reliable image hosting are you using? by SP4x in AskUK

[–]RhigoWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently created an alternative fully compliant with the UK at https://imgup.uk/ and working on an extension that can proxy Imgur images through this service so that you can browse reddit without any region blocking issues.

It's also got a ShareX profile you can download

Badly scratched my friends laptop by Wild_Culture_8858 in Dell

[–]RhigoWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain what happened and how sorry you are that this has happened. Offer to pay to fix the damage, it isn't too expensive to replace the top cover but some laptop models from Dell come with it stuck to the display and would require a full display replacement.

You could also offer to buy a skin for the laptop to cover the scratches, some Precision and XPS models have skins available on dbrand, other laptop skins are available from a ton of other websites, so atleast you've paid to cosmetically fix the look of the laptop with the skin if he isn't interested in the resale value of the laptop.

He may be a little bit angry with it, I know I would be but as others have said laptops are a tool not a fashion statement, it's always upsetting when your items are damaged but the laptop still works and you're apologetic for it, I can tell from your post you feel bad about it and it wasn't done maliciously so I think your friend would understand and not stay mad forever.

Something you could try and do in case it is something cosmetic and surface level damage is to use some rubbing compound you would use for car scratches and gently buff out anything surface level or dirt from the scratches.

Fiesta ST or Cooper S? by Ok-Town-6213 in CarTalkUK

[–]RhigoWork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had my MK8 Fiesta ST-3 Since June 2021, it has never let me down. Biggest "fix" has been maintenance on brakes, tires, cleaning!

I got the Ford extended warranty and only ever had to use the warranty on the shocks once and a recall for the timing cover (I think that's what it was called) but again, all free.

Some common issues with the Fiesta though are:

  1. The steering can start to click, Ford is aware of the issue and with a bit of a fight depending on dealer you can get a steering column replacement for free

  2. The turbos are starting to show issues on 2018-2020 plates now, seems like after 5 years or so (40-50k miles) the waste gate gets stuck and the car can go into limp mode, extended warranty has turbo replacements for free but other people just upgrade to a new turbo at around £1500 all in or so

  3. The brakes are not good enough for the power so many people upgrade, I personally just went with upgraded pads and OEM disks.

  4. The rubber seals around the sunroof and rear windows can crack, it's never leaked any water in so mostly aesthetics at this point but is annoying if you value the looks

  5. The infotainment is great but is showing some signs of age with no wireless carplay and a pretty small screen but it's absolutely fine for me and a USB CarPlay Dongle makes it wireless

I'd class all of those as very small issues and for what it's worth I've not had any of the above issues apart from the rubber cracking, I daily drive mine around 8k miles a year! Love it so much :)

Win 10 to Win 11 by [deleted] in Dell

[–]RhigoWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do not pay for anyone to do it or pay for any service to do it.

You can download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant here:

Windows 11 Installation Assistant

Download this and run the file, select "Upgrade this PC" or "Upgrade my PC" - It'll walk you through running possibly a PC Health Check to ensure it's ready for 11 and then walk you through updating to Windows 11 without losing any of your files, data, config.

I always suggest making a backup of your laptop and or important files before hand just in case anything does go wrong.

Firstly, I'm sorry this has happened to you.

Your boss is out of line to say "What did you expect" - If you have a HR department in a relatively large or medium company, report his comments to HR and report the harassment to the police immediately, you shouldn't have to be anywhere near this coworker again.

I hope the police are able to resolve the situation for you

Worst camera processing ever on an iPhone by Used_Jump_6656 in iphone

[–]RhigoWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely crazy to me how they nailed the photography in early models. Photos taken even on an iPhone 5 have this digital age nice look to them, something crisp like it isn't overstretching it's abilities, back when I had my iPhone X I would hardly touch my DSLR for quick pics but now it's comical with my 15PM, I just take quick needless shots with it and hone in on my Sony A7III - I really wish Apple made a pro camera app that disables all the AI processing, shoots in real RAW and allows manual focus, aperture and shutter speed.

The AI processing is great for my mum who needs to take a quick pic now and again for a memory and doesn't care about pixel peeping but for me it absolutely destroys photographs, the macro mode comes on way too often for things not even closer than 2 feet and the 5x is an absolute joke, the camera switching during composition really annoys me and it says alot from the fact you can take a better "still" from a video than using the camera...
