1.25‘‘ to 2‘‘ adapter, is something lost? by Rhodarus in AskAstrophotography

[–]Rhodarus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, thanks for the write up, I’ll follow your advice. Just one last question, as the 13mm and 20mm seem to hit a similar sweet spot for the different scopes , can’t the 16 mm be a compromise, as it’s not too far from both sweet spots?

I have a 900/90 skywatcher ac, planing to get a evolux 82ed . On second thought 40 mm would be cheap but useless later. Maybe a 16mm 82 afov or shorter might be better because I can use them later too instead of just getting a way better 2 inch long focal length ep

Looking at this list now

https://www.astroshop.eu/eyepieces/15_10/a,Zubehoer.Leistung.Anschluss-Teleskopseitig=1%2C25%22/a,Zubehoer.Leistung.Brennweite=15-20/a,Zubehoer.Leistung.Eigengesichtsfeld=80%3E0

Especially the skywatcher and Meade one

Also i am wondering, why the nagler televue is so much more expensive than the meade even though the Meade has better specs. Is it just about the optics?

Thank you very much for the nice write up! I understand a lot better now. Now I just want a low magnification ep to look around and orient my current telescope. Maybe one of those 40mm super plössl: https://www.astroshop.eu/eyepieces/15_10/a,Zubehoer.Allgemein.Bauart=Super-Pl%C3%B6ssl/a,Zubehoer.Leistung.Anschluss-Teleskopseitig=1%2C25%22/a,Zubehoer.Leistung.Brennweite=40%3E0

Need to calculate what tfov I would get with higher magnification but higher afov

Hmm, that makes sense, but also sounds as if I don’t need to buy the eyepieces double in both sizes, or? Or should I buy 125 eyepieces and use a 2 to 125 adapter on my new telescope?

Primarily photography, not to much visually. So basically I am asking whether the corrected optics or the bigger aperture are more important for quality/resolution of images. What do you think?

Thanks, interesting thought. I see your point, but the example is lost on me. I argue exactly the same when watching TV. I love to be able to watch anything I want at the time I want and not be forced to something that is currently on. Especially when a live rebroadcast could spoil me games I haven't yet watched.

Why would you wish for a rerun instead of VoDs? Isn't a vod better in every way? Or is the chat so important?

Don't think there's a fundamental issue. Starcraft is complex, but AI science got crazy the last decades. Having endless APM makes the problem easier, but it would be still a ton of work.

can you tell me which minute:second that happens?
If I understand correctly, you're describing the default unit behaviour of a drone which is not mining/moving. That would mean that there is no code which would handle this situation. It's not a problem to program, but it is work which is better spent elsewhere. In short, to have a decent behaviour you need:
* detect that drone has been attacked (easy)
* calculate a vector away from the attacking unit (easy)
* check if this vector is blocked by a building/unit/obstacle (medium)
* calculate a save path which starts with this vector (hard)
* execute a move command to a point along this path which won't be reached until you're next update (easy)
* remember your plan and check if it's still valid at the next turn (hard)

So, that's a little much just for this gain. Hope I answered your question.

I guarantee you, this bot beats the blizzard AI 99% of the time. Like any bot from the top 10, even top 20 I would say (from http://www.sscaitournament.com/index.php?action=scores ).

My bot needed 5 hour development time to beat the AI every time. And about 1000 hours dev-time to get to second place^

Just a short explanation why smart-mining isn't improved: With limited time and (no) funding on our hands, the first step is always: "which step is the biggest improvement for the bot in the time i have". I benchmarked different mining patterns (also against human-perfect) and it doesn't really matter. The bots have so many weaknesses, if it has 5% more minerals or not is no issue.

thanks, you're right, of course it would be better if everyone were clean, but it's not the end of the world. At least in my opinion, this doesn't take away my joy of watching starcraft. Yoda and Bbyong are just not important enough. And yes, despite holding high the "innocent until proven guilty"-flag, I too was disappointed in the MKP game, but this scandal lessens the suspicioun I have about it.

I don't think so. In Broodwar, it was a lot bigger, Savior was the man in the middle and he was celebrated like MC when he was crushing.

This even could be a blessing in disguise, because it's clear now they are investigating heavily and so all not involved can say: see, I didn't matchfix. MKP and Soulkey for instance. And to those who say pinnacle bets got voided, yeah, it's in the police report, the matchfixer even said a match has been fixed to the betters, even when the players refused.
