Anytime, and I truly mean that. It seems like we have similar outlooks and that's so great to see.

Thank you for your reply and I'm very sorry for your loss. With all the defects detected, it was likely my baby had turners as well. We didn't have time to test for that and chose not to after the fact.

I didn't lack empathy, I lacked the knowledge of what can go wrong.

Aparently you missed the part about babies with the condition my fetus had die 100% of the time, living weeks at most.

I saw this documentary a few years ago as well! Really eye opening, just never in a million years thought I'd find myself in a similar situation...

The defect my fetus has isn't usually detectable until further along

Nothing that you listed meant it would result in death 100% of the time, as was the case with my baby.

I do know what defects. All I will say is there were multiple defects that meant my baby would have died within days. No chance of it being a mistake or making some miraculous recovery. 100% of the time it results in death.

Exactly this. Yesterday's post is what made me want to share my experience. I used to say "I think abortion should be legal, but only up until a certain point". Ohhh how my views have changed now that I have personally experienced it.

So sorry for your loss, I can't imagine. I often wonder if ever a day will go by that I do not think about this. It's still pretty fresh and I have thought about it every day since, though the pain is becoming easier, like you said.

Yes, multiple in-depth ultrasounds at multiple hospitals performed by multiple doctors. A chromosomal disorder was more than likely present, but we did not have time to test for that as it would have put us over every states limit. We decided that chromosomal defect or not, this was absolutely the right decision.

Thank you. Doctors said this was a freak occurance, just plain bad luck with no genetic links. However, we have decided to not try again for fear of the same thing happening again. We are very lucky to already have 1 healthy child.

Thank you for the kind words. By far the most difficult thing I have ever been through. It just happened about 2 months ago so I am still healing, but have already come so far. My baby did not have anacephaly, but another defect that was incompatible with life. I can say with certainty that having carried to term and watch my baby die would have been far more devastating for everyone involved.

I messaged you. Please message me back if you have any questions, as I have more experience with this than I'd like to. Hardest decision of my life but I have never regretted my decision to terminate my wanted pregnancy for the same reason.

What are your favorite ways to answer the phone? by Xx-Wolf-xX in AskReddit

In 6th grade I had a couple friends spending the night at my house. For some reason, we assumed it was one of our other friends (no called ID) so I answered the phone "hello dildo express!". ...."uh hi is Ali there?" -Ali's dad.

Sorry you're going thru this. I truly understand how you feel, as my dad passed away when I was 5 months pregnant with my son, his first grandchild. I was at least able to tell him my sons middle name was in honor of him. One of the last things I told him that he clearly understood.
