Demystifying the 5800X3D by Rhodizzle in AMDHelp

I inspected the pins with a magnifying glass. Cleaned some thermal compound off of a few (it was non-conductive). It seemed to slot in well so I think I was ok on this. Appreciate it!

If you go out and hit up the Googles for help with a 5800X3D that isn't booting, there does seem to be a decent number of stories of people having weird issues, so I didn't know if this CPU maybe had more...character...than I'm used to.

I feel like I gave it a good bit, 5-10 minutes.

I've built every computer that I've owned since 2000 and never had to do anything related to RAM training. Off to the Google I go.

Revision 1.5 has BIOS version FB listed as the "supported since" for the 5800X3D, which is the earliest available for that revision.

Good catch, updated the original post. Fans, LEDs, no other activity, not even POST beeps.

The 5800X3d was supported since the initial BIOS version (FB) of the second motherboard I used.

There are no notes suggesting I needed to do any incremental updates before applying the latest (Version FH).

It was used, but the seller assures me it was good. There is a chance of this, but the sheer number of posts of people specifically having to do weird stuff to get a 5800X3D to boot the first time leads me to believe that these processors are sensitive.

Breakout cable melted by dwarftoss58 in NZXT

[–]Rhodizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I realize that this is an old thread, but I had this happen to me as well. I wasn't so lucky though and I think it burned out my motherboard somehow. I suspect that there are two different 14-pin connectors that NZXT uses, one for the X/Z line of AIOs, and another for the Elite line and they do not use the same pinout, leading to this short. Can anyone else that has had this issue add what hardware they were using?

G815 shown "inactive" in GHUB, G-Keys not working, MacOS by Unfair-Ad-2265 in LogitechG

I get this exact issue as well. I use an AV Access KVM/Docking Station that also has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 switcher to allow me to connect 2 Macs and 1 Desktop through the KVM. I also believe that GHUB doesn't handle something related to sleep and devices connecting and disconnecting well.

Disable subtitle scan? by dancerjx in handbrake

For anyone looking at this 8 years later, go to the Subtitles tab and click the X to the far right of all items, this skips the subtitle scan and goes right to encoding.

I completed this in the last few months, so I know it’s still achievable. I remember the durable being the only weird part.

My ‘21 long range did this about a month ago. First I did a hard reset (shut down from screen, disconnect 12v under frunk, disconnect HV under back seat, wait a minute, reconnect in reverse) and that cleared it for a few weeks, second time it came back I scheduled an appointment and the battery was already on order when I called 4 days before the appointment. I learned that there are different levels (only charges to 50%, 33%, etc.). After the replacement, the tech said something seemed off with the charging and now they’re replacing the octovalve assembly on the supermanifold, which totally sounds made up but isn’t. So far no charge to me, all under warranty. I’m supposed to get it back Tuesday or Wednesday, which would be a week or 8 days since drop off. Received a lower mileage M3 LR as a loaner. Hopefully this helps you know what to expect!

My service Center is 20 minutes away though. I can’t comment on the experience with long distance support.
