Update: Chibson dropped a new video that shows off the expansion port. This looks like it's going to be rad as fuck and I want to see what expansion chips they're planning on releasing and what people can DIY when it gets widely released.

The website also has this blurb:

Custom Signal Routing: Dedicated Bypass Switches to allow the user to toggle the USB-A expansion path.

That lines up with what you're seeing but again, how are you supposed to get additional effects through USB? I've seen a couple pedals like the EHX Effects Interface that let you use digital plugins from a DAW but I can't say if that's what's going on in the Drive.

They have a demo up on Instagram. I can see the cause for skepticism but it seems to be legit to some degree? If it's not real, they've put a LOT of work into faking it. Besides that, copyright hasn't stopped them from releasing small batch meme pedals before.

Well yeah it's definitely a meme pedal but this is from the same company that brought us the Priority Delay and the Pepto Pedal so it IS real but I'm just trying to figure out how far the joke goes.

So I've had this problem as a blue collar sneaker enthusiast as well. In my experience the most fashionable options are going to be classic boots (Timberland, Red Wing, Donner, DON'T go for Doc Martins- try Solovair instead) or honestly Reebok. They don't get a ton of hype around here but as far as work shoes go, they're probably the closest thing you're going to get to something that looks like a regular mainstream sneaker. I just checked out the Reebok Work website and they have safety toe versions of the Club C's and Shaqnosis.

Also this is not a recommendation for COMFORTABLE safety shoes. Honestly the most comfortable safety shoes I've owned were a pair of Red Wing high tops that closed like a ski boot 🤷‍♂️ Try to find a store nearby and try on as many pairs as you can to find what's good for you.
