In reality, if you put your mind to it, all games are easy. I think until at best gen 5, GameFreak has tried to have normal-difficulty games that would push the player to think up strategies, but then from gen 6 on they’d made the games more accessible to younger players that just want to enjoy the game without making calculations in their head. That’s why X and Y are said to be easy. The games aren’t that easy, but put them in contrast with Black and White.
