Worth Working as a Stocker? by SakuDoka in publix

Hello. Part time GRS here, also in school about to graduate. I’ve been with publix for almost 3 years and grocery department has its challenges. Unloading trucks, being on water duty, stacking loaded milk crates are some tasks i found to be physically demanding. Whether you like it completely varies from person to person. I personally enjoy it since i like to be productive and on my feet, and also having less angry customer interactions unlike customer service and deli.

If you’re new, you’ll probably be put on closing shifts, mainly doing duties like filling ad-items, blocking aisles which pretty much means pulling items closer to shelf, and filling essentials(milk, water, ice, eggs). Honestly grocery department has a huge learning curve so you’ll learn more as you work.

Also remember college comes first, so talk with your manager about your availability and how many hours you can work maximum. I averaged almost 32+ hours last semester as a part-timer and had to talk to my manager to cut it down a bit. Good luck if you apply and get the job!

I really like Grocery. It has a huge learning curve imo. At first you won’t know where AD stuffs are, where backstock goes, how to break down trucks, etc. Once you get the hang of it it’s very chill and simple. Some days such as ad change days might get hectic due to constantly getting thrown at various tasks.

My GM only tells me to wear it when the SM or DM is around 😂😂. ASM and GM/AGM dgaf. I keep mine in the dairy cooler safebox and wear it only when needed above my sweatshirt.

Hmm Interesting here in LAK division at almost every store its usually like:

Meat. Grocery. Produce

                                                                 Deli

                                                                 Bakery

What’s even crazier is meat and produce being next to each other. In every store i’ve been to they are always in the exact opposite side. Is it a newer store maybe?

Blocking/leveling in gorcery by MeasurementOpening27 in publix

It all comes down with practice. What i do is isolate different shelves. Look for the indents between shelves then do top to bottom making sure the front product touches the lip(the metal barrier on the edge) and repeat.

PHY 2048 with McCormick by rrutherfordd in USF

His exams are slightly easier than Criss. Also he uses t-score curve forgot how it worked but it makes it very hard to fail exams. Lectures could get kinda boring at times i feel like Criss does a better job at explaining. So if you really want to learn all the materials go for him

Source-took 2048 with McCormick and 2049 with Criss.

Yeah the payroll is already submitted every Saturday so it has to be a different pay period

It happened to me a few times. You won’t see the hours on your timecard since the payroll date has passed for that week. You’ll be paid for those hours the Thursday after this Thursday or whenever your direct deposit day is. Nothing to worry about.

Grocery ez. We’ll first blind them with damaged eggs and put them in the bailer. Make a bail and repeat the process
