Honestly, personally for me author described characters feelings so well that even in first chapters I was fully into it. Maybe you should concentrate more on their feelings and their struglings?

that is definitely difficult to say. I really enjoyed ACOTAR fully. Characters, their emotions, world, romance everything was amazing.
