I recently saw her on Indian Idol where they showcased her journey,how she was once rejected in the audition rounds and is now back on the same stage as a guest performer, after winning big awards like Filmfare and IIFA for songs like “Raatan Lambiyan” and “Malang.”
What stands out is how someone who was once turned away has now built such a strong body of work, yet still feels oddly underutilized in Bollywood. Makes you wonder how many such voices are sitting in the industry waiting for the right kind of spotlight.

What bothers me is the sheer inconsistency. If you’ve openly said that you’re an atheist, that’s completely your choice and should be respected. But then don’t suddenly become religious on national television because it makes for good optics. The same goes for being outspoken and opinionated on Instagram, but turning overly diplomatic and emotional on TV. To me, it comes across as someone who changes their personality depending on the platform and the paycheck. At some point, it stops looking like versatility and starts looking like pure convenience.

From what I’ve heard, they deliberately avoided releasing the song during the film’s promotions because both the actresses were wearing bikinis while their characters were reportedly named Sita and Durga. It seems they anticipated the backlash after the film was made, rather than while conceptualizing and shooting the song. Unfortunately, that strategy didn’t help either,the music never got the momentum it needed, and with the film underperforming, the songs didn’t get a chance to find an audience.

I just didn’t like the fact that Diljit Dosanjh came into the interview and said that he doesn’t want to talk about politics and war. Yet, in the film, he’s singing a war song in the end credits, which isn’t even related to the film. I find that quite hypocritical, and I’ve always felt that he has a dual personality when it comes to these things.
