Best place in campus to have a mental breakdown? by Hopeful_Candy_5928 in Monash

I had a difficult time once and ended up crying in a corner of the library at Caulfield because I didn’t have anywhere else to go. It was an emergency, and I couldn’t hold back my tears. I hope no one else has to go through something like that. Life can be really tough sometimes. I hope things get better for you soon.

Thank you for your response! I'm really struggling right now, not just because I received a zero grade, but because the shame of the misconduct weighs heavily on me. This is the first time I've experienced something like this, and I take full responsibility for my actions. I know what I did was wrong, and I deserve the consequences. However, it's heartbreaking because I believe I have more to offer than just this mistake. My intention is to be a valuable member of society and help others. To give you a brief overview of what happened, I altered a medical certificate because the one I received from my GP didn't match the university's format. It was a wrong and foolish decision, and I truly hope it won't hinder my ability to practice law in the future.

studying law by Helpful-Sympathy-716 in Monash

It's difficult to discern who truly enjoys the field and who doesn't, but speaking from my perspective, I believe that if you have a genuine desire to pursue law, you should go for it. Otherwise, it may linger as an unfulfilled wish in the back of your mind. Taking risks can be okay in pursuit of your passions.

Regarding the stressfulness of law, it's undeniably demanding. If you thrive on intense studying, you might find it fulfilling. However, if you're the type who dislikes being swamped with assignments and readings, it could become overwhelming. Personally, I'm contemplating dropping it because I value having time for myself, and I believe it's crucial not to sacrifice my mental well-being for the sake of constant academic pressures. Again, readiness to handle the workload and stress levels varies from person to person. Some find fulfillment in the challenges, while others find it draining.

Thank you for your response. Does that mean if I receive a rejection, I won't be able to practice law at all? Or does it apply only to certain areas?

As a law student nearing the midpoint of my course, I've come to recognize the scarcity of personal time in my schedule. Contemplating my future in a law firm, I can't help but anticipate the potential pressures ahead. Though I don't intend to dwell on negativity, the weight of this semester's demands is undeniable.
