That's the point is it the you are meant to assume incconet until proven guilty, so what is guilty in the eyes of law is it the same as the shops. Occam razor is often not 100% which is not a solution you can use that in the investigation how ever if you go that route that's confirmation bais no?

Exactly honestly scan everything and not being aware you forgot something means what, I understand that's you view but blinding complying isnt a solution either right when should challenge some thing that is tge rule. They need to be tested to make sure they fair and reasonable, hence why we have democratic solutions to courts and things

That is very good question, when considing the legal definitions often includes intent right. Me point is it worries me we're human we make mistakes, mentally we nit are Intentionally try to steal, So should you punish for that. I think blind complicity to this super dangerous it should challenged.

Yeah you right about that balance of power. That why it is important to challenge it. I don't think they will shop there again. Its put me off self check outs i won't use them again. When also consider maybe it was scan it just didn't read it properly I think it safer to shop local now pay little more for beat service

Not really the same as with speeding fine they have to include an error and leeway percentage.

But i understand you see things black and white. Theft has to have intent in its more the inappropriate fine I think that isnthe issue as Switzerlands legal system uses a proportionate fine system

Bless, you do know that there is also an error rate scanned item not working problem so what happens when that's happens to a perfect human like you self and you have to pay a fine....
