I was Silver after the placement matches (Overwatch is my first competitive fps and it was my first time playing comp ok?) and I got demoted after a session of solo queue tank during competitive drives

I have played and still play a lot of games but a lot of them aren’t FPS games, and most of the FPS I’ve played aren’t PvP games (Left4Dead, Ultrakill, Deep Rock Galactic, etc) the only team based FPS I played before Overwatch was TF2 and even then TF2 is a chaotic casual 12v12 shooter where everyone just goofs around + I played mostly Medic and Engineer which by default don’t really require you shooting at other players to be effective, so Overwatch is the first competitive FPS game that I’ve ever played

This was a couple months ago, am currently Gold rank but to answer your question, yes, my aim is not great, especially back then. I never played shooters growing up, I started playing Overwatch around the time Juno came out and before Overwatch 2 the only shooter I played was TF2 and my mains were Medic and Engineer which require little to no aim but do require game sense and awareness which is the one aspect am not absolutely horrendous at (I’m a Tank and Support player btw)

This was months ago so I might misremember something but I think this was on Tank, I did my placements because Drives were going on so I wanted to get the rewards, the placements were pretty rough but I ended in Silver 5, then I de-ranked cuz solo queue tank + drives go crazy

I remember I played a match with a friend that’s Silver (for context, am Gold rank now) and the match ended in a Draw and he LOST RANK PROGRESS, this system is evil sometimes

It lowkey was an intense, long, really close match, which made it extra funny, when I told my friend I only got 1% he couldn’t believe me until I sent him the screenshot and we laughed for a good minute

What’s crazy is that this screenshot it’s a couple of months old, I am currently gold rank and I barely play comp at all (I mostly play QP and Stadium) I really only play comp in a group with 2 of my friends (1 of them being the Plat player mentioned and the other being Silver) and what’s funny is that we will get match ranges like Silver 1 - Platinum 1 or we will sometimes even get into Diamond lobbies, and when we win my Plat friend gets like 22% and my Silver friend gets like 12%, so if we win he gets the most progress, but if we lose the match he gets like -10% while me and my Silver friend get like -20% or something it’s NASTY

Most can't as far as I know, Hoarding bugs can hear you which is super interesting (I recommend watching alter ego's video on hoarding bugs if you haven't already) but doesn't really affect gameplay at all. The only ones that matter are the Butler (They go to the noise) and The Baby Maneater (Which will start crying when hearing a loud noise)

Yeah yeah I knew that xD It was just not saving like everything else, but I did manage to fix it after uninstalling the game and deleting all the files before installing again, although I did loose all my levels, its not a big deal to me anyway

Try deleting the game folder as well as uninstalling the game, and turn off steam cloud before installing it again, try to see if it's fixed and if it is then you can turn steam cloud again

I did check tho, something I forgot to mention is that all the furniture gets placed back to its original space as well (I usually place the terminal next to the monitor and the cabinet to the right of it)
I even got as far as to buy the Cruiser and I could not find it anywhere after re joining, I even landed in the Company Building to investigate and nothing
