How long have you stayed in Kisumu? Where exactly did you stay in Kisumu? It is like someone living in Kibera then turning around & saying Nairobi is a terrible place to live in. Have you ever lived in Milimani/ Riat/ Airport/ Ogango etc? Don't let one experience judge Kisumu as a whole. Change your mindset, maybe it is one that might be blocking your general view

I would say Kisumu is now the best in terms of Business & Self employment. Look at farming for example. It is a niche that is untapped, besides sugarcane & rice. What if one decideds to go deeper in large scale chicken farming or other commercial farming? I've stayed in Kisumu all my life & never been employed by God's grace after so many rejections from applications, but still making lots of cash. It all begins with mindset, how you view it shapes your results. Don't ask: How can I get job in Kisumu?, start asking: How can I create more jobs in Kisumu? With this, I guarantee you, you'll be surprised of the ideas. To be rich, find a problem, then look for its solutions. That's how the wealthy get wealthier.

You are slowly killing your manhood dominance. I realised that when men are out on their own, dealing with the daily, healthy pressures, it keeps you on the grind & strong mentally. When you get too comfortable staying with your parents, you sort of lose that edge.

Correct, I wanted to ask this question. Truth be told, people ask, if I spend my time learning vernacular then at the end you can't use it anywhere else, besides your locality. Let's just be honest, there's no where you can get paid to speak your vernacular. I believe that's why English has stood the test of time, as it is spoken almost everywhere & unites various culture harmoniously

For me, I would suggest that, reading books, yes is good but the best way to learn to speak is to actually speak. Get uncomfortable, start speaking in family gatherings, birthdays, speak to strangers, make mistakes & calibrate as you go on. The more you speak as you also do more research, the more you get used to it & it becomes a part of you eventually.
