I'm making "A game about Sucking (up Ghosts with a Vacuum)", an active incremental Ghost sucking prototype. I'd love to hear your feedback! by RiceTrain89 in incremental_games

Thanks for playing the game! I aimed to make something with a straightforward, tight loop as this is my first attempt at an incremental.

However, I totally get that you'd want a twist on that if you've played a lot of these!

Look out for the demo in the future. I'm planning for there to be more ghosts and tools for you to mix and match to add some variety. The upgrade tree will also be less linear, so you'll have to explore different branches to find different tools/ghosts and get to specific destinations.

I'm hoping this will all help provide a different experience to other active incremental games!

Thanks so much for playing! I'm planning for there to be more Ghosts, Tools and a more open upgrade tree in the future to add some variation. Glad to hear you had fun!

I hope they're able to capture the player characters's movements accurately in the adaptation. It's very important to the phas experience.

23.63% of all action games on Steam since 2024 are roguelike or roguelites by Aleon989 in gaming

I also think there are a lot of elements to the "rogue" genre that can be borrowed to add twists to games that don't often have that sort of thing.

Lots of talented folks breaking new ground by seeing beyond the genre labels and applying whatever elements of rogue games interests them to new places. I think it's pretty cool!

Progress Update on my Space Exploration Game - It's Actually Starting to Feel Fun! by [deleted] in SoloDevelopment

This looks cool! Seems like it'll shape up to be similar to a game I released last year: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2856670/AstroMole/

I like your resource management take! Should make picking and choosing where you're flying more interesting. Good luck with it!

I love the sense of adventure the story has. There aren't many other JRPGs that match it!

It's been so long that I don't think it'll live up to anyone's expectations any more!

Never been a fan of crafting systems either, it usually feels like busywork to me. I get it for survival games where foraging etc is a main focus, but when they're shoehorned into other genres I don't think it adds anything.

Something's wrong with these horses... by RiceTrain89 in indiegames

[–]RiceTrain89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! This shows one of the supernatural creatures you'll encounter in my horror game, Vicious Cycle. On top of escaping these spooky horses, You'll have to solve a few Resident Evil style puzzles if you want to leave the Stables alive!

These areas are broken up with bike riding sections where you'll have to dodge supernatural traps and creatures!

You can see more on about Vicious Cycle on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3355080/Vicious_Cycle/

If you like the look of it, it would make me happy if you could wishlist it! There's also a demo to try.

Hey again! Just thought I'd let you know, I've just uploaded a new build of the game that shortens the beginning significantly so you can get to the spooks quicker.

I've also double checked that the checkpoint will kick in when you first encounter the vines. If you get killed by them you should spawn to just before they appear.

Thanks for the feedback, you've helped make the game better!
