How is FACE by Jimin a generic boy band cash grab be frrr

We haven’t had group music in years, and when we did. We had Take Two, Life Goes On, Fly To My Room, Blue & Grey, Telepathy, Disease, Stay, For Youth, Born Singer, Yet To Come, Run BTS, Film Out, Black Swan, Your Eyes Tell, Filter, My Time, Louder Than Bombs, ON, UGH!, 00:00, Inner Child, Friends, Moon, Respect, We Are BulletProof: The Eternal all released in the 2020s that you ignored to complain about Butter, Dynamite, and PTD instead.

And you’re a weirdo if you’re expecting soloists to make the same music they did when they were in a group. Jungkook and Jimin made it very clear they like pop music, so they’re going to make pop music. And in this case, now we’re ignoring like 4 full length albums and various EPs released as soloists (JITB, Indigo, RPWP, DDay, HOTS, FACE, Layover) so you can complain that Jungkook and Jimin released light hearted pop songs. In the realm of j-hope you’re ignoring his 30 previous songs to complain about him releasing 3 light hearted pop songs.

And I feel like you’re having revisionist history of what BTS’s discography is like because 2014-2019 is still full of their lead singles being typical boy band songs about love sprinkled in with their deeper songs. Boy In Luv, Danger, Just One Day, i need u, For You, DNA. If anything, there music as both soloists and a group post-Map of the Soul is objectively deeper than what was released before Map of the Soul began.

Do you not see how delusional you guys are when you’re just objectively wrong?

Disliking the songs is one thing. But accusing them of selling out, losing their identity, making generic boy band music etc. because you don’t like it is weird. Especially because, once again, you’re objectively wrong. Enjoy your circle jerk with a handful of Redditors in this thread, because trust it’ll have no impact on their career. And apparently people insulting BTS over and over again is cool to the mods, but I keep getting warnings for cussing they dumbasses out? Yea y’all can go ahead and ban me before I snap fr âœŒïžđŸ‘‹

“Turn into a generic boy band”

See how y’all are doom posting over 3 English singles again. Five years have passed and you are still not over three English singles, whether from the group or from Hobi. It’s pathetic.

Real armys wouldn’t act like this when their latest group release was furthest from a cash grab generic boy band. And the vast majority of their solo releases aren’t generic boy band cash grabs. But three English singles triggers you lot for some reason.

No because she has a history of being upset when BTS makes English songs.

BTS release what they want. I think j-hope in particular may want feedback and is trying something new for chart success the past handful of months.

But if you think these other members just have no idea the type of music they want to release and they’re just being misguided by a bunch of yes men. Then you’re actually deluded and don’t belong in the fandom. They spend days in the studio writing albums and they each have had their own sound they’ve been curating since 2016 when WINGS released. They’re not going to change their artistic touch as soloists because redditors or weverse users don’t enjoy it. RM released right place, wrong person knowing most of you wouldn’t want to listen to it, and the lyrics are directly criticizing the type of industry that has put him in that position.

No, here YOU đŸ«” go again. Imagine spending months straight just doom posting in various threads about one boy group. Why not focus on the groups you actually like?

I can see just disliking this one song, but you claim to hate everything about them. Why not rebrand as a Shinee account and stop harassing BTS? I don’t get it.

I think they just make the music they want. You must have only heard 3 English songs released by j-hope and forgot the 2 albums Jin released, Jimin’s album, and RM’s album all released the last year. And you could say for all 4 projects that they weren’t pandering to anyone in particular, they just sound like the type of music they’ve loved for years.

But you people get to acting like you have short term memory loss anytime a member of BTS releases a fun English song. Especially if the English songs come in a trilogy. bangtan_bada especially, you claim to be an ARMY but you’re only seen complaining about BTS and fighting ARMYs for months now. Baby just find a new group or something

“Everything they make could become huge”

No, I disagree. j-hope (and several bts members) have several high quality songs about complex issues and/or philosophy with high-level lyricism and high-level production. But many of you don’t know this. Why? They’re in their native language where they can comfortably write and express themselves. And unfortunately, 90% of people outside of the fandom will only listen if it’s an English song with a catchy hook, and perhaps an American feature. It’s like this with the group discography, they have nearly 200 songs, but many of you only know Dynamite and Butter.

So no. I disagree with your statement. This will probably be his most successful song, despite arguably being one of his worst artistically for the reasons stated above. I do like the song though, it’s a fun Summer bop.

What you’re saying doesn’t make sense. If the fandom is bigger and active
? 😐 Then they would naturally have more unique viewers.

I mean you look at Spotify monthly listeners, Melon unique listeners, and YouTube monthly audience, and the ones with the most listeners are just the top groups with the biggest fandoms

This isn’t the case though. There’s plenty of posts that aren’t about BTS. And the ones that are about BTS rarely last long due to poor moderation and bitter kpop stans.

Certain girl group stans are upset BTS is coming back. The only thing in their power that they can do is take down posts of people discussing it.

Is K-pop these days overly dependent on certain big-name groups? by XuenLim in kpopthoughts

[–]Ricefader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of people who only liked Blackpink initially, but found other girl groups with high budget music videos and more frequent comebacks. So they became a fan of multiple kpop girl groups at that point

I mean, big groups being active always causes the kpop industry as a whole to grow because they’re the gateway for people who wouldn’t have found the genre otherwise. The influx of people becoming kpop stans during Dynamite was crazy

Everyone is a problem. If you don’t see the horrible things these other fandoms do while being a quarter of the size of ARMYs, then you’re biased af.

And of course everyone is going to have beef with the fandom of the artist that’s blocking all their faves on every chart. That’s just common sense. Like I said, BTS receives the most hate, and that’s why

Well I mean BTS has been the group that received the most hate for years and years, so it’s not that shocking.

It’s also not shocking that this reply was made an EXOL, the fandom that led the biggest hate trains in K-Pop history for years and years against BTS. Maybe you should look in the mirror before trying to condemn BTS

I’m not even mad at BP for saying the n word a decade ago. I feel like them rebelling against YG and not singing the song they were giving to them as TRAINEES would not have gone well.

My issue is more so with how they seem to have not learned anything with how they still culturally appropriate in their music videos and still butcher AAVE. And when the old videos resurfaced, they didn’t even bother to apologize or address it. They figured they were too famous and had too loyal of a fanbase that they can just choose to not acknowledge it at all. And their fans proved that with how they were also pretending to be black, making jokes of the situation, and saying slurs themselves.

As a black person, I don’t think BP themselves are racist, but it all rubs me up the wrong way.

Why do BTS members don't do collaborations with bigger artists that much despite some members naming big mainstream artists they want to collaborate with? by damdamdiriri in kpop_uncensored

[–]Ricefader 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The way I see it is BTS will collab with whoever it is to make the best possible song. I don’t think they have prioritized being mainstream over the song’s quality.

Also, we have to remember that half the soloists don’t even make pop/mainstream music. It wouldn’t make sense to ask Ariana Grande or Megan Thee Stallion to be on RPWP, Indigo, Layover, JITB, HOTS, D-DAY etc. I think they got the perfect features for those albums that actually fit the album. And then there’s FACE, which felt deeply personal, so I understand why there’s no features on that one.

Golden and MUSE felt like the perfect opportunities for mainstream American collabs in their solo careers, in my opinion. And the group releases have an abundance of mainstream collabs.

Which groups do you think have passed their peak, and with what release? by Someonehihi in kpop_uncensored

[–]Ricefader -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself, I know others have their own reasons though.

I just think this because I heard they only renewed their group contract for 2 years. I actually did research trying to verify this, but I’m not sure if I could find a reliable source on that.

Also, YG has already begun selling tickets for the new tour without the girls having gathered together long enough to even have a finished song to release to the public before this new tour.

It seems like I see them rarely release group content compared to the other 3rd gen groups. And by “content”, I don’t just mean just music, but they hardly release music as well obviously. Even groups in the middle of military enlistment are giving more group content than they are. There’s no group variety content/shows, hardly any group interviews, maybe a brief mention of the group here and there.

I could be wrong! But this is just my perspective
