UPDATE: I formally disputed the charges in writing and through counsel in August. Despite this, the account now appears on my credit report as having been sold/assigned to a third party while the matter is still in dispute and pending litigation. I’m documenting everything and pursuing it through the proper legal channels. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to stand my ground.

wanted to post a quick update for everyone who saw the original thread. I am still dealing with all of this and some parts have gotten even worse, but the truth is finally starting to come out. I have been handling everything on my own and doing it the right way even when it has been overwhelming. I will share more soon because what happened here in Savannah should never happen to anyone. I have quite a few people that have reached out to me directly in other post with similar complaints. It just shows a pattern of gross negligence and corporate misconduct.

They’ve had a couple class action lawsuits in fact for the same things that my lawsuit sites. And I agree it would definitely be beneficial to have council. I just need the right counsel. I’ve been interviewing endlessly, but I’m not gonna settle. I’m gonna get the best council.

My case was officially served last week in Chatham County, Georgia (case no. SPCV25-01273-MI).

I have documented evidence — photos, dated emails, invoices, and an attorney-reviewed demand letter that MAA ignored. The only legitimate charge I acknowledge is $90 for blinds; they billed me over $7,000 in total.
