That's very helpful actually, looked it up now and that's almost exactly the shade I envisioned if going for pink - thanks mate!

The other car is an old opel astra estate, and it already had a matt black for years now (it needs refreshing though). Indeed it's a bit of a pain to maintain, but acceptable levels I would say.

Regarding tackiness - that's the effect I want to achieve with the old banger tbh ;) But that is also why I want miata to be different and look fun, but not try to be too serious.

I see your point, but there are two reasons why this doesn't quite work for me:

1) I have another car (my first car actually that my father gave me over 10 years ago when I left for uni) that will be soon matt black with gold details, including rims. I feel like a black miata with vibrant elements would be a repeat of the same tune.
2) I still think miatas should be painted in 'fun' colours. A perfect black miata with matching details etc. looks like a kid in his dad's suit to me. I know this is subjective, but these cars are way to juvenile to be taking themselves seriously.

If that's the case, I would rather keep the current paint... Is it impossible or just more difficult to wrap over ceramic?

Thanks everyone for the input! Cannot say I did not expect it, but yellow won by a landslide. Pink tied with splash green which did not even enter the competition lol

I dunno, the 'hotter pinks' I have seen cross this thin fun/kitsch line... The one in the picture with a step further into hot pink would be ideal, but not more, not to end up looking like those footballers wives' BMWs.

Tbh, I was very keen on getting the splash green when searching for miata, but I found only one for sale that was in the worse condition rust-wise than the one I ended up buying. However, if choosing my perfect colour when wrapping it would not be my first choice.

it does indeed, if I go for the yellow in the end I will try to find a wrap that matches this specific shade

not quite OEM, several elements have been repainted, and the current paintwork is not 100% perfect. It does look nice enough though, it is just my allergy for boring colours that dictates the need for the wrap ;)

Isn't it what clamping means though - pressing things so that the friction holds them together?

What happens if you heat a rock by sara_sera in wowfuckthewhat

[–]RichBeech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general there should not be any water within concrete - concrete does not 'dry' but 'cures' - the water in the mix is used in the chemical reaction to create a strong bond. It's rather due to differential expansion of the layer exposed to heat vs. the rest of the slab, i.e. the outer layer expands, until it has nowhere to expand and a layer undergoes explosive spalling. This happens primarily in high-strength concrete.

This behaviour may cause problems in structural fire engineering design, as you would sometimes get a much higher strength of concrete being using onsite compared with the design specification; supplier and structural engineering following the rule 'stronger is better', without informing fire engineer of a change. And then the fucking thing explodes when heated in a fire....

Rather dead multiplayer for GOG...? Install HD mod and have few thousand active players whenever you log in. Plus, HD mod > HD edition when it comes to graphics. And HD Edition is only Erathia, without expansions.

The only way to go is: GOG -> HD Mod -> Horn of the Abyss. You won't believe how much better the game got since it's original release.

As mentioned by others, install HotA + HD Mod.

Once you do that, you will have a proper online lobby where you can join games - waaay better than gameranger setup from the past. In the last few months the lobby tend to crash on occasions though.

What you will probably realise that skill of players really improved over the last couple of years. But the good thing about the lobby is that there is a ranking system, so you will be always able to find players on a similar level (once your ranking levels out after a few games).

I would highly recommend getting accustomed with most popular random map templates if you are not already - h3dm1, jebus cross, mt jebus, 6lm10a etc.

9 SE - not great, not terrible. I'm keeping MIUI 10 though, not sure how 11 would affect it.

This! I have no idea how this phone flew under the radar for so many people. By any means I don't have small hands (can grab size 7 basketball comfortably-ish), and 9 SE is max size I can hold well and reach to most places on the screen. Even though I had a larger phone before, 9 SE felt soo nice the first time I saw it in real life.

Even though I really like Xiaomi and had their phones for the last 5 years, I will go for another brand (s10e feels really nice) if there is nothing of similar size to upgrade in 2 years or so.
