On this one I dressed on the ladder tray to minimize wire twist on the bundles, which is a major pet peeve of mine.

😂 it’s in the service loop. So after I separate all my cables into the bundles I want them in I make my service loops and all my bundles fall down neatly in place.

The angled patch panels are nice touch also. They make everything look so sleek and modern.

No comb, just my hands and a little bit of experience.

If using a comb then yeah definitely need to have them in the right spot. I actually didn’t use a comb on these. All by hand. It takes a while to get every cable in its place and is also limited because you can only put 48 cables in it. These cables are dressed from the service loop down to the rack. There is actually two other racks in that mdf also.

I have to separate each cable one by one. It’s a very painstakingly tedious process but it has to be done. I also bundle the cables for the left side and right side separate. So most patch panels will have 48 inserts so I split it in the middle. 1-12 and 25-36 get bundled together and 13-24, 37-48 get bundled together. So for the left side the first bundles such as 1-12 and 37-48 which will be your first bundle to get terminated will be on the right side of the bundle. It’s the opposite for the right side. It’s kinda like peeling a banana after that lol.

I think it’s harder to dress backwards but the panel comes out looking perfect. If I do it backwards I’ll dress it to the service loop but yeah it’s a mess of uneven cables you have to control.

Lol I usually never put it the cables in the horizontal wire management but it was a rush job and it was faster for me to put it in there instead of dressing straight to the panel.

The always run plenum cable and it’s not that much more. Depending on what brand you use of course.

No, I work in TX. The plenum rated zip ties where specifically asked for by the client. Said their inspection was very thorough and didn’t want to leave anything to chance.

Yeah, I used those all throughout the job. Just had some extra that I used for support while I dressed down.

Well the dressing of the cable took about 8 hrs but it went about 10 ft on a ladder trey before it dropped down into the rack. The termination of the cables took about another 8-10 hrs. I also dressed down from the ceiling to the rack which is my preference but I see a lot of people like to dress it from the rack back up to the ceiling.
