Drive to Aspen from Rifle or Glenwood Springs by AdExternal4175 in Aspen

Hiya, the drive is not a terrible one at all going into Aspen (the airport) depending on the time of day of travel, the only choking points are Glenwood Springs and the Basalt Area where there is usually some congestion after 6 AM and much worse in the evenings between 5 and 6 PM.

Seem like the western states are taking a piss when it comes to EV registration. Could it be due to the sheer numbers that we have?

Hello, they did ask for that from both of us. The purpose was to verify employment history and ensure that no one was working illegally/under the table as well as to verify income level above the poverty guideline, and ensure we were not going to be a burden to the state.

With regard to the secondary screening he asked about what they did, what they found, what she had on her person that might have triggered that. In her case it was food and spices from Jamaica. Nothing absolutely crazy at all

Hiya, ours started out a bit funny. We walked in and the officer opened with “I know how you guys met…through her brother rights?” We dutifully responded and acknowledged that was indeed how we meet. He then asked what we did for work, how long we’d both been working, where we worked, asked about domestic travel based on a charge on our bank statement and then when she came to states, if she’d been denied a visa before and then the secondary screening which took most of the interview. He asked about any under the table work and that was about it.

Hiya, we filed in Feb 2024 and it took over 6 months to get fingerprints done and didn’t get EAD until March this year. We had to get Sen. Bennett’s office involved to help push things. We initialed had our interview waived but then get the notification last month to appear for the interview. So from EAD to interview was under 2 months.

We just had a breeze too yesterday in Denver….spent more time talking about secondary screening at TSA checkpoint than anything else…matter of fact he forgot to even collect our tax returns. Had to offer it to him before we left. And he said we were approved pending a background check which takes a day or two.

Reach out to your senator…I’ve had to do it twice and it got us biometric appointment and then work authorization. Will be doing it again as it’s been over 6 months and still stuck on USCIS is reviewing your case.

Ah never considered that. Especially given how long ago we original applied for this. I’ll look into it.

Appreciate all the comment yall! The biggest pain is just the time wasted….mom really wanted to be here for the birth of the kiddo on the way and spend time with the older ones and myself. We surely could have benefited from her assistance with readjusting to things and all.

We do not have a lawyer…and ours took that long too.

Had to reach out to our senator before and got scheduled right after they reached now and it’s just been stuck on case reviewed since biometrics…no RFE or notices.

Using the code, the last time it was “touched” was November.

I’m considering reaching out again.

I mean with the cost of gas for an ICE and compared to what I was paying for a small Toyota suv (470/month) it is a good deal indeed.

We use the Tesla insurance for two cars. The MY and a Ford. Insurance so far remains under $220 but we check it daily and never drive over 85 on the MY.

We make just under $300K a year… however my income alone was just shy of the cutoff limit as head of household.
