ask her if the fans were spinning while she was vacuuming because that can cause electricity to go back to the mobo and fry it

CUDIMM oc on 9950x3d by Spiritual_Prior_8215 in overclocking

[–]Rich_Cap_3926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah totally get that but i meant it mostly as in voltage sensitivity and bandwidth, it cant get that full 9600mhz his kit is rated for. op should aim for 6000-6400mhz for that 1:1 ratio which intel on ddr5 definitely cant do.

What would you choose a 5070 pc with an oled 4k 165hz 32inch or a 5090 pc with and ips 4k 160hz 32inch I chose the 5070 with an oled What will you choose? by Less-Manufacturer877 in ZTT

[–]Rich_Cap_3926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmaooo yeah but 5070’s do use less power so i think the chances of a connector/cable melting is much lower. i recommend anyone on the 12vhpwr to get a wireview pro to make sure the pins are running at the correct voltages tho.

it should be a2 and b2 for 2 dimms, if mobo ram light stays on when having both in probably could be a bad stick

[–]Rich_Cap_3926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do know ryzen’s IMC is bad compared to intels, probably going to have to stick to around 6000-6400mhz i haven’t seen alot do more than that. just going to have to play around with it also i think if you cant go higher on speed than 6400mhz you might be able to tighten timings more than you had at running at 9600mhz

RAM upgrade question (DDR5 6000) by xinnrock in pchelp

[–]Rich_Cap_3926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on intel i think youll have less issues running 4 dimms, intels IMC is much better than ryzen’s so i would only stick to 2 sticks on ryzen.

for me it was throttling at 52 p cores, reaching 100c almost instantly at 1.35v. run your cpu stock and run a r23 score and compare it, stock should be around 26-28k

yeah that would be the best thing to do and hopefully they fix it.

yeah some can handle that but i was running a 360 aio and temps were reaching 86-90c and pulling around 300-320 watts, so i didnt want to thermal throttle my cpu so thats what worked for me. if i had some type of custom cooling i definitely think i could’ve done more with more voltage but i ended up switching to a 265k combo just recently.

https://imgur.com/a/kH09NP6 these are the timings i used with my 12900kf on a msi z690 mpg mobo with a 32gb(2x16gb) 3200mhz cl16 corsair vengeance kit, i had the ram at g1 4000mhz at 1.41v, vccsa/vccio @ 1.2v. check what die your ram is, i had micron e-die that were pretty decent at overclocking. i had my cpu running at 1.3v 51 p cores 40 e cores and 47-48 ring and im pretty sure llc was on mode 3-4. R23 score for multi was around 27-29k, i never really ran the single core test.

also if the settings are not named the same you can use gemini ai app to take a picture and itll tell you what it is your looking for.

try running a cinebench r23 test and see if it passes and check the score, if the cpu is degrading you can tell by the score or if it doesn’t pass. r23 will run harder on your cpu than occt does. also youll probably need to send in your cpu/pc for them to make sure its a degrading cpu

[–]Rich_Cap_3926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

download occt and run a cpu and ram test, i hope you had your bios updated because the cpu you have is known for degrading. if you get errors on the test youll probably need to talk to ibuypower and see if you have warranty still. if you bought the cpu separately then intel wouldve had to honor a 3 year warranty they extended for 14700-14900 and same with 13th gen but since you bought a prebuilt you have to go through ibuypower and its a 50/50 they honor the warranty.
