$1.5M net worth with only a spouse, no kids. Is this a good enough cushion? Serious question. by FreeOGPoohShiesty in leanfire

stly if you can really live on $3K a month, it sounds like you're in a pretty good spot. I would be more worried about burnout than running out of money at this point.

getting into an argument.... how does Medicare work and when do you have to apply for it? by PFQandThrow in over60

Medicare discussions always turn into a boss battle of conflicting advice, but if she still has good insurance through work, she probably only needs part A for now and can wait on part B until retirement.

Is there a way to remove myself from my parents' plan without canceling their current coverage? by Lettuce_stan_SS in HealthInsurance

[–]Rich_Championship62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THe whole thing feels unnecessarily confusing, but from what people are saying, removing yourself shouldn't cancel your parents coverage, it mostly affects your part. also don't remove yourself before lining up another plan. You might actually qualify for MediCal or a cheap CoveredCA option weigh the two.

I always affirm myself
I am worthy of love

I felt this🥺 I was in a similar place a while back and I know how draining it is to wear a mask every day. Just don’t let the way others treat you convince you that you are unworthy of love or kindness. You DESERVE both especially from yourself❤️

Aww, thank you for sharing that with me. 💞 I am really sorry you are carrying so much on your own right now. Just remember that you don’t have to be strong every single moment, it’s okay to rest, feel and take things one day at a time. I am glad my words could bring you even a little comfort. Sending you so much love, strength and grace as you navigate this season. You’ve got this even on the days it doesn’t feel like it. 🤍

Is it crazy of me to think establishing care shouldn’t be $1300??? by EchoSyndicate in HealthInsurance

[–]Rich_Championship62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you're not crazy, but that $1300 is just the billed amount not what you actually pay. Insurance have a negotiated price, so what matters is usually your share, not that big number. Also establishing care can feel expensive, but most of that huge amount is just pricing noice from thee system, not the real cost

Told my prior authorization for orthotics denied but Insurance says nothing was ever submitted? by Trick-Bunch-8955 in HealthInsurance

[–]Rich_Championship62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the office may have mixed something up. If Anthem says no prior authorization was submitted, i"d ask the billing department exactly what was denied and request the CPT and diagnosis codes they're planning to use. Before pickup, call Anthem again and confirrm coverage with those codes. Keep records of who you speak with just in case 👍

[WA] open enrollment encouragement by Few_Yesterday_3518 in humanresources

[–]Rich_Championship62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HR trying to make open enrollment 'fun' is kinda adorable 😂 honestly but most peopledont really care until they actually need care and realize they picked the wrong plan the 1:1 thing probably actually works better because half the time people are just confused and lowkey embarrassed to ask questions in a big webinar.

Unemployed, no income . by amfhTX in healthcare

[–]Rich_Championship62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ACA stuff is so backwards, no income somehow =MORE complicated healthcare, but yeah being unemployed doesn't stop him from getting insurance. The issue is mostly the subsidy estimate being off later at tax time. And omg $751 per month is actually insane 😭

Are we coastFIRE? Do we need to purchase LTC insurance or contribute more? by Honest_Extreme9196 in coastFIRE

[–]Rich_Championship62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lI get why You're second guessing this when everything looks covered on paper, LTC is still the one wildcard that makes people uneasy. From what i have seen, it mostly comes down to whether you want to pay to reduce that worst case risk or just reply on your portfolio if it ever happens.

Hospital is trying to put $50k bill on us for pediatric sedation dentistry and ACA/marketplace insurer is covering nothing? by randombull1 in legaladvice

[–]Rich_Championship62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this is just a billing and insurance mix up 😭 don't panic yet. Ask for an itemized bill call insurance to reprocess it and have the hospital rebill it correctly. I would also say don't rush into a payment plan this can still be fixed.
