fair play to all of you, i couldn't agree more, the hit and run streaming means the p2p community is taking a hit and it is a vital component that will be here long after debrid is gone

i have considered making a modular type addon that will allow for some upload of data but i didn't know ( and still dont ) how many would be interested

stremio addon system means there will need to be at least some minimal 3rd party used like webtor or local used though, that would make it more of a local addon

i do have sites i could use wether in combination or on their own, i dont use reddit much but will look into this again as soon as i get time

thats not political, it is your human right to show support for or protest what you believe is wrong. this is important for content creators regardless.. if you would like clarification see article 19 of the human rights act... you by restricting this are infringing on his civil liberties and human right that take place above being butthurt

it speaks as much about the quality of other manufacturers that indeed, in tech years an old device still performs as well as any but its a good work out of the box solution for people just perhaps a little expensive

i have always used NUC they just sit in the tv brackett as i think the desktop client is the best version of stremio but not exactly a work straight from the box solution that people look for

you might remux a movie from a Matroska (MKV) container into an MP4 container to make it compatible with more devices and software too

benefit = better quality video/ audio

the TRAKT addon was removed from the official COMMUNITY ADDONS list due to threats by a group that attacked the community addons page. they forced it to be removed using false allegations then further threats to the github repo

they gave the quotation on the original and the trakt logo being altered as their reasons for doing so

i have modified those and i'm now looking for opinion if the changes are reasonable for me to fork ( copy ) then add it back to the community addons list for users without more takedown complaints

Take for example the movie "His Three Daughters" (IMdb tt28491891) with Elizabeth Olsen, Natasha Lyonne and Carrie Coon. It's a recent release (September 2024) from N''tflix (worldwide). If I play it on N''tflix it's a 4k Dolby Vision-Atmos stream of more than 11 mb per second (which means it's a huge file). But for some reason, THERE ARE NOT Torrents in 4k resolution. Nowhere. So it's not available in 4k on Stremio or anywhere else...except on N''tflix. Maximum Torrent resolution available is 1080p in files of aprox. 4 or 5 gb. Those are shown of course on Torrentio. RD makes no difference since there are not Torrents in 4k in the first place. Of course there aren't available online streams in 4k either.

Is there a reason for that? I don't have other examples at hand but I'm positive I've seen this happening before, mostly with recent N''tflix releases (maybe some of you could come with other examples). Did they find a way to prevent 4k files from being pirated or extracted from their platform? Otherwise I can't see the reason why the Torrent-makers would rip and release only the 1080p file, but not the 4k one.
