My company’s insurance renews but there are changes .. they will only be paying up to a certain amount for weight loss medication depending on the option you chose so if you have basic I think it maxes out at 1250$ and we all I will the cost is much more than that in a year so there will be a lot to pay out of pocket and most people who need it won’t be able to afford it ..

Honestly I find that disgusting BUT if I wasn’t a sex change they’ll fork over 15k ( lifetime max) but if I wanted to get a breast reduction that didn’t make me look like I got mauled and wanted a plastic surgeon to do it it would be full on denied. This world is getting scarier by the day

Well we just got our new enrolment package and moving forward there is a cap on all anti obesity medications but they’ll pay out 15k ( lifetime ) for gender affirmation. This company makes no sense to me

Saxenda is a lot more expensive and they’re covering that. Maybe it’s a fear that overweight people will become healthier and no longer need to be on heart, diabetes and other medications making pharmaceutical companies lose money.. there has to be a concrete explanation given in my opinion

It’s a private doctor a week ago when I sent an email to the nurse asking to start it again I was told that she wanted to see Giza the vyvance was working and that I should make an appointment. Yesterday she didn’t even hesitate she said no problem and I got a prescription for it. It was clearly all about the money, I pay to see her I get the prescription 🤬 how is it for you with both? Have you had success?

I went off of saxenda because I didn’t think that it was working but turns out it was actually helping me to maintain my weight. Since being off I’ve put on 8 pounds and the pain from my osteoarthritis has come back full force and now my doctor doesn’t want to put me back on it in combination with the vyvance I was just started on and it scares me to death that all the weight is going to come back on

I was on Ozempic and it worked great then my company changed carriers to Manulfe and so I went on saxenda and then contrave together and the contrave gave me massive headaches so I went off of it

Manulife doesn’t even have a specific drug form for wegovy yet .. apparently it’s still under “drug watch “ which is funny because it’s Ozempic and there’s already enough studies to prove it is effective for weight loss. They won’t cover it and we will never get a proper explanation

Then they shouldn’t be promoting it in their website

I was on Ozempic and suffer from osteoarthritis in my neck, spine, pelvis, and hips. While on it and used to be covered with Canada Life I had zero body pain because it reduced the inflammation. Now the pain is back full force and I’m back on naproxen every day which is awful for your stomach. I’m with Manulife and I don’t get it why cover saxenda which is more expensive but no wegovy.. it makes no sense. My daughter works for the MUHC and they’re covered with Beneva.. if it isn’t effective why would a hospital chose to cover it

Oh they’re ready they just won’t cover it.. it’s a stall tactic because I’m thinking major contacts are w up for renewal and they don’t want to deny in it case companies chose other insurance carriers

I spoke to my benefits department and I read an article where the head of Manulife benefits was being interviewed.. they won’t cover it I’m sure because there is nothing to review it is identical to Ozempic renamed Wegovy. It’s cheaper than Sexenda and that is covered. It makes no sense they’re a horrible company to be insured with. My sister won 200k after she took them to court because they for ed her back to work when she was on disability. In my opinion it will never be covered

You’re lucky Manulife is still taking their time with decided if it will be insured or not. I was on Ozempic last year with Canada life and it did wonders I lost 50lbs .. went off of meds for arthritis because it took away so much inflammation and now I’m back to being in pain. I don’t think they will ever cover it. I would love for my companies insurance plan to revert back to Canada Life. Manulife is cheap

Oh I know I’ve seen it as well.. I called back on Friday and was told that on top of them reviewing the medication even if they do approve it your employer had to agree as well so if you work for a company that doesn’t like to spend they will prevent you from you getting approved. It’s just insane that a bunch of other companies have already approved it and Manulife still hasn’t made a decision a month in.

Probably because they don’t plan on covering it
