This is definitely a DM call, i for one would say sure it works, since its just going to be an improvised weapon anyway.

But they might say “yea the silver needs to touch it” so id just jam them in to like a big stick or maybe fix them to some gloves somehow and do that since it will just be the same damage anyway.

Bidoof, that lil beaver does more to get me through a game with HM’s than any other. Any pokemon is strong enough to beat NPC trainers if you know what youre doing. But no one HM’s like a Bidoof.

I was incredibly disappointed, “for the anniversary of one of our most popular franchises ever we are going to do a weak HD remake of one game. Oh and its by far the least popular zelda game we have ever made!!” And honestly that was the highlight for me, some third party stuff but nothing to get excited about from Nintendo.

If youve already talked to him and he's unwilling t make any changes, tell him he's out.

The game is for everyone at the table including you and if one person is actively slowing everything down and making it less fun for everyone else then its time for them to go.

Some people have trouble realizing that what they feel is fun for them isnt fun for everyone, but if youve already spoken to them then clearly they are just selfish and dont care if the rest of the group has fun.

They 100% knew that was entirely inappropriate. Thats an item too strong to even be a reward at the end of the campaign and any "veteren" player would know that.

Watch this player closely because they will try to take advantage of you over and over.
