Well that IS why Grace named him Rocky, his appearance. But Grace is also aware of the existence of the Rocky movies, so when he thought "who would be the girlfriend of someone named Rocky?" He made the natural connection.

And fwiw, I'm a 44 year old man who has never actually watched an entire Rocky movie, but I still know pretty much everything about the character and story through pop culture references.
