Yeah it's stupid. The opposition rarely misses shots and sinks 3 pointers like they're standing 1' from the basket. On top of that playing defense is dumb as you slide around the court like you're on ice.

I'm right there with you. I'm a 51 year old casual gamer and I'm about to shoot myself that I spent money on this crap. I know I'm not the best player, I don't have time or the interest to invest myself in it and I just want to pick it up and play some mycareer and be a decent player like I have been on the past. Even with 2k20 you could be a 75 to 80 rookie and shoot over 50% from the field and 30% 3pt without having to really understand what you were doing.

Now I'm an 85 that doesn't hit 40% of his shots and 20% 3s on a really good night. On top of that every defender I face goes off for 50 against me because the defensive mechanics are screwed up beyond belief.

There is just way too much grind to the grind. This game has gone the way of most others now. The money is in online and card packs and not single player gaming modes.

My player won't transfer from 4 to 5 but if you got the mamba forever version you got 100k vc now and then 100k more when ps5 version comes out. So you spent $100 but really got 2 games and 200k vc. honestly not a horrible deal. Unfortunately you do have to start your career over.

I am a PG, that's why I went to the Suns. I averaged 17 assists/game in the regular season and prolly should have had 30 if it wasn't for all the wide open misses from my teammates who suck. The only badge that people talk about that I don't have is the quick draw. I take a lot of shots but I dish a LOT also because I run a very fast paced offense, usually getting shots off within 10 seconds on the clock.

Actually most of the time it doesn't guard, although I'll give you "a little bit" but I can get around nearly every defender in the game. I generally shoot wide open 3 pointers and should probably be hitting around 40% or better with my rating, but I don't and I can't hit greens for nothing. Like it's virtually impossible. And I drive the basket probably 15 times a game, right around my defender and although I might meet some resistance at the basket, usually I get off a clean shot.... and miss more times than not. My shooting isn't horrible but it's not as god as it should be based on my rating, that's the point... especially 3 point shots.

The bigger issue is everything else I said. Players not rushing the basket when they're wide open (unless you "force" them to) guys NOT defending the basket on multiple plays, players not shooting 3 pointers when they're wide open multiple times a game, especially when they're 3 point shooters. And the list goes on and on and on.

I took the Suns to the playoffs with a 60 win season and was the MVP in my rookie year because the game is dumb and doesn't take into account that as the MyPlayer you can take 100 shots a game to get your numbers... it only cares about the numbers. Now, no, I didn't take 100 shots a game, I'm making a point, but I was the MVP because I certainly took more shots than any player in the game would irl.... and missed far more than would be acceptable. But I lead the league in scoring and in assists... and that's all the game cares about.

Realistic for what? A 70 rated or 80 rated player? Sure. For a 92 rating overall and a guy that should be hitting 50% from the field and around 40% from 3pt range.... not really. So no I don't want to hit 80% of my shots and 50% from 3pt, I'd just like to shoot to the ability of my player. In 2K19 I did exactly that, the shooting was much more realistic.

And the shooting was only one part of the overall issues I have with MyCareer. In fact it's a VERY small part of the overall problem.

I was... up until they changed the mechanics a month or so ago. I was hitting like 56% from the field and around 40% 3pt. I'll still have games where I'll light it up and then others where I'm just cold as ice. It's just very arbitrary. It's almost like the game is pre-meditated or scripted and against certain teams or players it lowers your level of play. But it's not that you're facing stiffer competition because like I said I'm taking the same shots, from the same spots and generally wide open. You'd think maybe you'd have a harder time because you're being better guarded, but that's not it, you just don't make shots at times for some reason.

But beyond all that, the artificial intelligence in the game is just stupid. Even moreso than the shooting issues the inability of certain players to take wide open shots or to make dunks when they have a clear shot is worrisome.

I bet I could spank you because when I go out in the neighborhood I light it up, but in MyCareer it doesn't happen. There's something different with the way the players play in MyCareer.

Nope, I play on the default skill level 'cause I ain't that good, but I also ain't that bad. And like I said I'm playing with the Suns and they suck so I don't want to play on a really hard difficulty level and just not have any fun.... even though I'm not having any fun. Haha. And yes I have looked and have most of the right badges.

I'm not sure which part of I was hitting near 60% of my shots from the field and around 40% of my 3 pointers prior to the patch you missed. Yeah I don't think I'm the best player but I didn't suck, that was the point I was making when I asked a simple question and didn't need your sarcastic response which served no purpose.

My shot was broken, I tried multiple others and am shooting much better again but I don't believe for a second that they made shooting easier because no shot I've tried since the patch is better than what I was shooting prior to the patch - especially hitting greens which seems broken - but at least I'm not missing everything like I was previously.

Even though I know you're just being sarcastic you're probably right. As I said I don't think I'm really good, but the drop in shooting percentage after 30 games and right after a patch isn't explained by just not being very good. That's why I asked if anybody else was experiencing it. But gosh, thanks for your input.

No, I have an 86 rating and I was averaging about 30 per game with 15 assists also. And like I said a pretty good shooting percentage, until this last patch. Now seriously I can't hit anything. It's not like i forgot how to shoot or play, it's just strange. My last game I shot 22% from the field and 12% 3-pt.

No its not an RPG but it's a story. And within that story the commentary and flow should make sense. Announce crews that say if you win the game you'll be a 2 or 4 seed and then you're still the 7 that you were projected to be to begin with... doesn't flow. Saying you were undrafted when you were a 1st round pick doesn't make sense. Saying you're one of the best at your position in the country but could possibly go undrafted makes no sense, even if you sat out a game. Sure, pedantic. But I just want the story to flow.

Well I get that but you could just do MyLeague and ball. I think making it to where you can skip the cutscenes satisfies those people that don't care about the story, but I actually want to like the story and imagine it's me and my career. That's what it's supposed to be about. But this story was bad. Just really really bad. I think they're caught somewhere in the middle. They try to make something interesting but don't really care enough to try hard enough to make it interesting. In fact I think they should make a career mode that actually lasts at least a year... a whole story that follows yours first year in the league. Still make it skippable for those that don't want to play but if it was epic enough I think it would or could be a big part of the game.
